Another thing I have been meaning to ask...does anyone know of spoiler extension for on the rear fenders that match the stock spoiler? If so, I would be interested in sticking them on, then reconfiguring that rear patch. Maybe even keep the skinny stripes going all the way to the back. But the skinny stripes going all the way to the back with that hard taper and coming to a fine point def doesn't look right.

I used to do red on black on my old 11 vert a pin stripe that really set it off at that line along the fender top, and have seen a couple two tones done up well with that as a dividing line too done up well. But just a single line is well kind of might not even be there. Pinstripe = 5$ LOL
But hey that BUG SPLATTER is hard to ignore get on it.... Holy Mary....LOL You need clear bra dude..... The deal is I can alter any thing with pair of scissors and you could too with just buying vinyl, and the stock gm vinyl is just a 3m type grade so match that with any discount stuff and its a case of wearing the vinyl for a few years and if no prolonged constant UV exposure it may not shade the paint underneath so much as to make a difference too bad when removing and going for another look/vinyl or paint. I find most vinyls are good for about 5 years and can last a lot longer depending on the environments it is exposed too and if its treated with good wax or plastic cleaner and protectant. Some vinyls do not accept waxing such as a matte and I just have come to appreciate gloss better for maintenance and avoiding getting some on the vinyl....LOL SO maybe you want to program this in and I know some where around here of course at lots of places with preprogrammed CNC for the vinyl, but the whole thing is I am a get er done guy.....I would have instantly made from hand the desired vinyl from stock rolled vinyl if I wanted just measurements and pencil markings ...LOL Anyway just because something is GM vinyl means most likely just more expensive when your interested in the grade and quality which can be had for much cheaper than OEM as they make the factory price high, sure they are good quality but can be very easily duplicated cheaper and searched on the net. Just going to vendors on here would show like Phastek.... I read many times online the thickness of the gm and its a case of the same lipstick on another pig costing 5 times more... LOL SO look for a *8* year outdoor vinyl and know the deal is if one brand of the other its hopefully pretty close in quality, and can even get some vinyls that say they do not last so long but do and would by far ...but replacement before the material becoming brittle is nice and of course aging is dependent on the conditions. Good Luck dude and try to keep it clean in those bug twister country roads...LOL

NOT a $5 dollar pistripe. HAND STRIPED. You know, squirrel hair brush. Guy didn't use those cheater paint application tools with the guide on it either. There is a couple wobbles here and there but it gives it character.
Lmao about the bug splatter, I knew someone would call attention to this. That bug splatter is from the last 80 miles. I had the car hand washed about 20 miles from home, drove home, parked it, a week later I drove to town for service, back home, and there she sits. I pass hundreds of bee boxes going to town and back, plus any other bug that is unfortunate enough to meet my paint and 100+ mph. Country Living at its finest folks. I'm not saying I need to use the exact same vinyl as GM, I would just like to know what they use regarding thickness and use that for a base line to shop around for vinyl that will hold up. Not the vinyl you can find on Amazon that is cheap and prone to tear, fade, peel back, etc. |
