Very good point. I'm with the OP though, It would be cool if they added something to the side of the SS just to make it a bit different. On the other hand, I'm ok with the look since a person doesn't know what they're getting into when they pull up beside the SS.

LOL. i have twice as man postings as you and your calling me a troll.

thats fine because this doesn't look gay to me... BMW M models, Audis S Line and a lot of other awesome cars do not think it does either.

Don't know if you followed the whole $20,000 KR hood fiasco... (now lowered to like $9,000 after a lot of negative reaction). And of course my favorite comment from Shelby Inc., "The last thing we wanted was a customer slapping a KR carbon fiber hood on his V6" Lets alienate a whole lot of Mustang owners in one sentence! LOL
What exactly was the KR hood fiasco? I am interested..

you are pretty annoying though...wish there was a age requirements on forums.

back on topic.
all i will say is this...
people who know and care about cars can tell the difference between models.
people who dont wont even think twice about what you drive because they dont care.

In the end when you buy an SS and get the RS package, the only thing extra you are paying for are the HID's..

The place where you can think about losing money is when you order the RS package and then upgrade to the polished aluminum rims.. However the argument there is that the midnight silver RS rims are the same price as the stock painted rims.. However when you get the V6, I don't believe the 19's can be comparable to the 20's in price... So at least in the V6 Camaro, if you upgrade to the RS package (where you get the updated midnight 20's) and then upgrade to the polished, Where is the price difference between the upgrade to the 20's from the 19's that you are not getting?

Hasn't the V8 Camaro historically always looked similar to the V6? Great to have you back though Hylton. I love what you did to your car even though for me the perfect Camaro would be one with the Concepts bumper and mailsot exactly copied..
so the v6 guy is paying more to look like the SS. I see it as reasonable. Because there are people out there that want the look of an SS but the insurance and price of the V6.

another reason not to care really is when a mustang thinks he's taking an SS and it's a close race, but the stang wins he then finds out that it was a v6 he feels bad. even though he still won.

Ultimately, most non-car people can't tell the difference no matter how much trim is on there.

Hell, see my fiance's Mustang in my garage. GT California. Yet, the most common question she gets asked about it is whether it's a Shelby.

People see a Camaro. They don't see an SS or a V6.

Personally, I think the Camaro looks awesome as it is. For GM to differentiate them, they'd have to make the SS look cartoonishly over the top, or they'd have to make the LT look terrible. Why do either? The LT is a great car.

The LT earns its keep just fine.

Let me ask you this: I chose a 1SS because that's where I wanted my budget to be and I didn't think the additions on a 2SS or RS were worth it _TO ME_. What piece of trim should they remove in your ideal world to differentiate between my car and a 2SS? Maybe they should just paint the MSRP on the door?

A Camaro is a Camaro.

Thanks Superman - you like the true Bumblebee look. I am surprised nobody has done it yet. Yes, the V6 cars have looked similar to the V8's but the ride height, suspension, wheel and tire combos made them look cheaper. I believe there is a video on Youtube wher Al Openheimer discusses the effort they made in ensuring the V6 cars had the same agressive stance as the V8 cars.

In the past, you could never get the larger wheel and tire combo on the V6 cars. For example, the various 1st and 2nd gen 15 inch wheels found on the Z, were never offered on the 6 bangers. The IROC 16 inch wheels were never offered on the V6 and the 4th gens' 17 inch SS wheels were never offered on the V6.

Just mod it if you want to be different. I don't know about you guys, but I don't like looking like I drive the same car as everyone else. Spice things up a bit. Define yourself.

I have many thoughts regarding this subject...have of them revolve around disappointment in the tone of some. :(

They made sure the V6 looked hot, so that buyers wouldn't feel like they were getting the short end of the stick (which they aren't, but perception is reality)...

The bottom line here, as far as I'm concerned, is that they're all Camaros, and we are (most of us) Camaro owners. We should not want to short-change some of our group just to make others feel better. Rise above all that, because "Camaro" means friend, pal, or comrade.

No matter how my cars have come from the factory I have always added my own touches, sometimes just small details to make mine unique...
It isn't hard to do, it just takes some Imagination and you don't have to spend big bucks either...
On my Sky I added some 1/4 inch chrome around the grill openings, and some Ghost flames on the sides like they were exiting the side vent, those two touches along with a 2.4 emblem on the rear were all I needed.
