I agree! I didn't want to be in my car one day wish that I had the 2SS.

I'm very happy with my 2SS/RS...

I test drove a LT and SS back to back and knew I would always regret it if I did not buy the SS. Dont get me wrong, the V6 is a great car. I only drive about 6000 miles a year and a lot of that comes from wekend trips so that was a factor as well. In addition I did not want leather. My only wish is that the CandC package was available on the 1SS. Regardless, they are all very nice Camaros.

I think the 2SS is the easy choice. Not only because of the v8 but also because of the Brembo brakes which I'm told drastically improve braking performance. Can't wait til mine arrives.

i test drove one with a v6 in the morning, that very same day i test drove one with a v8 and my decision was made. I went with a 1SS !!!! why don't you compromise and get a 1SS? it's right in the middle of both.

After reading this thread and you all's great advice and after calling my insurance guy . . . I found out that the 2SS RS will only cost me $40 more dollars in insurance over six months over what it would be for the 2LT RS.

So, it is a 2SS RS for me! I will have to get the automatic and the L99 instead of the L3 I really want . . . got a permanently gimpy left leg so I have to go automatic. :-(

I want to order a black one with a rally red stripe . . . but red stripes are not an option! Bummer! Yeah, I like the red with the black rally stripe . . .

But, are there great places a guy could buy the black SS and have an aftermarket red rally stripe add on? I have never done that before. I am in the Atlanta area.

Thanks for the help!

This is really a personal decision and can't be wrong as long as you are true to yourself and believe in your decision. For us it was easy, drove a 2LT and knew it was plenty for the street. Learned the hard way what too much power is like on the street, just couldn't be behave having all that bottled up energy under the right foot. Plus when I want to go fast I have my other baby!

With what I am putting down, 93 premium gas instead of 87 octane, insurance difference, knowing I keep a car for at least 10 years, about 15,000 daily driving per year, the cost of driving a 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS (both excellent cars) . . .

I figure it will cost me about $200 more a month to run the 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS . . .

For those who ordered the 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS . . . do you think it is worth $200 a month for the driving experience? Or, for those of you who went with the LT instead of the SS and have been driving your sweet ride for a while . . . are you happy with the trade off for 304HP instead of 426 HP?

Any decision we all make is a trade off . . . $200 a month in the pocket for other toys (I am not taking any food off the table) or 100 more HP for 10 years . . . tough choice! I figure you all who have already made your choice and have been driving it for a while will have the best advice!

Agreed. In an effort to save money I considered the 1SS, but at this stage of my life, and the fact that it is my daily driver, I went with the 2SS. I'm spoiled by all of the creature comforts.

Read the net RWHP is only 80 dif from the ss. Throw a cai to exh. tip system on it for what a ground effects pkg would cost ya and you can narrow that margine to about 35. Torque might be another story though.

When I do get the Corvette it will not be my daily driver the Camaro will, and I am not planning to get the base Corvetter either. I paid for my Camaro cash, now I am saving for a big down payment on a Corvette. I am 26 now I am planning to have the Corvette before my 30th, so I even might be able to buy it cash as well, if God permits.
