i would go with or something. twist ties or even zip ties will not withstand the speeds at which you may be driving your Camaro at. it will work for a while, but the plate will eventually come off.

Here's another option:

I know, I know. It's on a Mustang, but options are limited right now. This would definitely be better than drilling my brand new bumper.

If the plate is always on the car, what do the invisible holes in the bumper matter? Man I thought I was OCD

Dealer emblem, though, I can't live with. Thanks for the reminder!

Here in MD, my son hasn't been pulled over in about a year with the plate on the dash. If he had been...don't know.

Very true...but I plan on taking it off regularly (for shows, and traveling at the speeds you just mentioned ) So twist-ties/zip-ties may be exactly what I'm looking for...however, more likely is me fabricating something more reliable myself. We'll see. Bottom line is I won't let them punch holes in the front end of my car.

One thing that was very important to me was the first time the car was washed. My 2000 SS was black and I watched them take it off the truck and asked them not to clean it. It was covered with road dirt and grime. I took it home, rinsed it and worked it before anything touched it and made swirls. I don't really think thats too anal, just want the black to keep from scratching and I really don't think the guys out back of the dealer were going to baby it like me.

So Angela, go ahead and do what you want, it's yours...

I don't think I am too anal either...this is the first car I have ever bought new, and something I want to keep factory stock...and I want to be the first to do anything to it, washing, tags, gas, ect. Thanks for understanding

I am working with someone to develop a nice removable front license plate bracket that will mount to the lower grill. As soon as I can get some front bumper measurements, he will make some and I will send out the information.

If anyone can get me the following (with pictures if possible) we can expedite the process: Hold a bubble level to ground and measure the angle on vertical plane of the front bumper. Use a common protracter to measure included angle across the center of the grille on the horizontal.

Thanks, Mike. I've also ordered black and hadn't thought about that first washing at the dealership and what damage it could permanently do to the clearcoat. I'm gonna have to intervene and handle that myself.

You guys are too funny.

It's a just a car, not a woman. Your manhood shoudln't feel damaged if you aren't the first to fill her up with go go juice.

As for the front plate, I can 99% promise that the mount requires no holes to be "punched" in the front of your car. GM has a lot of smart people working there, and I think they know that once in a blue moon, someone may move from one state which requires a front plate, to another which doesn't, and said person may not like holes in the bumper.

Anyways, the front plate on my Cobalt mounts up underneith the lower grille opening somehow - there aren't any holes or mounting points that would remain visible if the plan was removed.

If they take a drill anywhre near my car, I'm gonna punch them in the face. And it will then go straight to the dealer's body shop to be fixed! NO license plates, no license plate frames, and no dealer stickers!
