I also prefer the production version over the concept. Never thought I'd say that a year or two ago. lol

LOL They were my favorite two! Aside from the dovetail spoiler that is.

The LS7 just looks more or less stock. And I can't stand stickers plastered all over a car. The Blue that the GS is painted in would have been stunning if not for the ugly stickers and yellow wheels.

y'all do understand that the Concept's shifter is a single, solid piece of metal... there's nothing on the shifter to dissipate the heat that is transferred up from the transmission... so its not going to work to just tint the windows... and it being garage kept is a great idea... what kind of garage are you going to keep it in while you're at Best Buy picking out a CD? how about when you're at a car show in the hot sun and you want to show it off to the world? the towel really is your only resort... and its a good solution... but GM is NOT, I repeat, NOT going to offer something that could potentially burn someone in their production car... its not going to happen... maybe GMPP will make a clone that isn't made out of metal... maybe someone in the aftermarket will offer one that is exactly like the Concept's shifter... but to continue to ask GM for something that is not there for a reason is just kind of silly.

I'm not overly enamoured on these show cars but I see their purpose. I'd like bigger wheels but not the options shown and I'd like a bigger exhaust, but also aftermarket... but I like uncluttered cars anyway.

What I DO like is that GM are offering this stuff - how many manufacturers do that? Few!

Overall, I love that fact that I'm seeing production-look cars out there!

SilverTurtle,

The Hurst Competition Plus was a factory option in '69 and '70 and with the Console cars had a big solid chrome plated metal Ball on top.

I have owned them-and left them parked in the baking sun all day- no burns on my hands. Again never had any problems after a day in the sun with either of these cars.

In reality I could care less about the standard factory shifter since the Hurst short throw is an option -and that is a very good thing.

Jamest,

There are a variety of Second Generation Camaro forums you can visit to see where the rally stripes end on a factory Second Generation Car. Take a look at the First Generation ('67-'69) while you are at it. Both of these early designs end on the front header. The first gen cars to a termination point at the front end, the '70 through '73 ending in the compound curves then terminating on the mid-portion of the front header.

On the 2010, the 1992 25th Ann. "Heritage Stripes" are the closest match for what we are seeing for production as of now and for obvious automobile styling reasons for the 2010 design - this is a very bad thing.

Yes. I was horribly disappointed to to see an LS7 dropped into the Camaro. That's just so rice...I don't know what to say. And that 'wedge' spoiler...SO RICE...don't they know that spoilers are supposed to be on 6 inch risers?

I do not think they were "riced out." I just think you might prefer a more subtle or "sleeper" Camaro...as will a lot of people. Others, though, will mod their Camaro to their own personal taste to make it unique and stand out from other Camaros like playhard67 mentioned. I think GM was showcasing that flexibility. My own tastes lean more toward "less" than "more."

I think the LS7 Camaro is a sleeper... the only things that give it away as a "performance" upgraded car are the exhaust tips and badging.. other than that, no huge wing, no GMPP logos on the side, no ground effects, etc. ... its just what I would do... reference the 2002 Z28 in my sig pic as proof... looks like a stock '02 Z28 with big wheels... the reality is that its got 405rwhp, 12bolt Moser rear end, SPEC Stage4 clutch, etc.
