Jeebus.. This thread is still going????

Congrats to Camaro5... We've just created the world's first functional perpetual motion machine....

Now, if only we could harness this power on the track.. We'd start getting negative track times

I started to read the last 5 or 6 pages of this particular thread -

...........and I'm just - welll............

The only thing I can relate this thread to is a couple of old guys sitting around a checker board arguing about anything and everything - ---

..........and I'm just WAITING for someone to yell.........

"hey you kids!!!! GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!

Talk about conjecture and trolling and posturing and such........

One would be wise to listen to a few people on this thread - such as Mr. Pedders and Mr. Number 3.............

And to some of you who have no intention of ever buying a Camaro - what exactly IS your purpose here?

Just askin'..........
Thank you for the complement placing me in a league with #1

The Streets of Willow Springs, a 1.6-mile road course in Rosamond, California

V6 1:30.9
GT 1:28.0
BOSS LS 1:26.1
GT500 125.6

V6 to GT500 Time Difference 5.3 HP Difference 245
BOSS LS to GT500 Time Difference .5 HP Difference 106

The BOSS LS vs ZL1 test showed a 2.5 second difference in the cars. Using the data from above, one would think that the new GT500 with 650 would be another .5 seconds faster. Theoretically the GT500 with 650 vs the ZL1 the ZL1 would still be faster. Once again, I ask you to forget about the ZL1 Camaro and focus only on the Ford BOSS LS, GT500 and GT500 / 650. The limiting factor will be the rear tire contact patch and the geometry of a 3 link. The harder you corner, the harder and faster the inside rear wheel will come up limiting the traction and ability to put down the extra HP. The more you lower a 3 link, the worse the traction issue is because the inside rear wheel will lift sooner (there is less travel).

I am not the world's leading expert on Mustangs. Looking at what is available on the web it appears the rear tire size for all three is 285/35. Increase the HP without increasing the tire contact patch to match the power and the result will be increased slip. It is a formula for diminishing returns.

What happens if his theory is proven wrong? Sorry, but it won't be over until the two cars are ran head-to-head. Even then, regardless of the outcome, I doubt it will really be over.

It's just getting started. It ain't over til we got results from a new ZL1 vs new GT500 battle. I can't wait. I predict ZL1 wins in road course and Gt500 in any straight line race

DONE!!!

*closed*

Thanks to all who participated. This was an exercise in the endurance of the "Faith".

The truth is we invited our Mustang friends to the website to fire as many Cobra-painted rockets at you as they could. We wanted to see who would break, and who was truly worth of the Camaro lifestyle.

If you think I'm gonna list out names, you're NUTZ!!
