I put a catch can on it very early, I can't remember exactly when.. Somewhere in the first couple thousand miles though. Been through two rx cans and one mightymouse.

And while on the subject, I'm rethinking the MightyMouse setup for my car. While the system works great at idle and in negative manifold pressure, I'm not sure about when under WOT. At idle it uses the turbo inlet filter for the fresh air into the motor. But when under boost it has to use that same turbo inlet hose to pull on the crankcase, but when this is happening there is NO fresh air into the crankcase. I'm thinking about going back to a dual valve catch can. Working on a new evac setup.. Stay tuned.

Also I'm getting slightly different readings in different cylinders on the piston to head clearances when I put the short block back together. I'm wondering if it's possible that the crankshaft got bent very slightly when it locked up. I'm not sure I can trust these readings... At least not enough to order a set of $800-$1,000 custom pistons. I should probably go ahead and get my used motor and check clearances with that to be safe.

Here's a couple more pics of the forged rods side by side with the factory powdered metal LFX rods. They look a little stronger to me...

Can you check the trueness of the crank shaft?

pin it at centers in a lathe and role it with a depth mic on it maybe?

I don't have the ability to do that, but it really doesn't matter. I had no plans to reuse any of this stuff. I was just going to use it for measurmemts to build the pistons from. I'll be buying a nice used motor with 5k miles or less on it. Just need to get it sooner than later I guess.

Just read the entire thread and I'm subscribing now. This is a very cool build so far! Also I'm extremely jealous of you being able to do all of this work even if it is on your down time at work lol

I'm done with you V6 guys. Since I have everything apart and gotta spend money I've decided to just LS swap this thing. I'm pretty sure I can just reuse all my wiring and computer.. Just need to hook the turbos up to it. I should be able to get into the high 10's no problem now!

Alright I was going to drop it in but decided it was too heavy and had too many cylinders lol. Guess I'll just stick with this little V6.
