Hopefully Chevy will stick with the V6 & V8 formula

Will the 6th gen have a V8? Yes.
Will the 6th gen have an I-4? Yes. Again, the denial expressed by so many of you is pointless. It isn't going to change anything. And Mustang is supposed to follow the same formula too.

I don't see why you're overreacting and making this a big deal. As another member stated, General Motors has and will put a four cylinder engine into the Camaro. |

Hell, just looking at some of the emerging technologies, gives me hope for the future of performance autos. Just check the numbers for cars like the Infiniti M35h. Yeah, it is expensive, but that stuff will become more and more affordable as time goes on. Twin turbos, turbo fours, dohc, direct injection, and yes even hybrid technologies will emerge into some interesting autos.

Sure it may sound like a fly buzzing around, lol ,which I guess for a car that wants to be a muscle car will kind of tarnish that look. But let me stop here, when it comes to engines I can only pretend I know what I'm talking about for so long. Lol

With the technology available nowadays, that's highly unlikely.
A 300 hp turbo, four is readily achievable.

A lot of people are also forgetting the fact that Chevy is introducing a large number of fuel efficient vehicles and Corporate Average Fuel Economy is just that and Average. The more 4 bangers that make 50+ MPG the more cars that are allowed to have V8's. The Corvette will probably make the change to a more fuel efficient engine similar to the way that the BMW M5 did this year dropping the V10 for a 5.0L Twin Turbo V8. Hopefully more in the sense of a Low Displacement Twin Turbo V8 as opposed to a Twin Turbo V6, but there are also other ways that performance cars can gain fuel economy. More gears and dropping the automatic transmission for a Dual Clutch Transmission (which is not only faster but suffers less drivetrain loss than a manual). While I agree there will probably be a I4 in the 6th Gen Camaro (which is in itself a sad thing to see return to the Camaro) it will be a 1 of the nails in the coffin that is the Camaro being seen as a respectable car. The problem I see with an inline 4 cylinder is that to make power, it has to be turbocharged or supercharged. This requires Premium fuel or E85. With an I-4 and Premium fuel you may get a few more Miles Per Gallon, but what is the Miles Per Dollar figure? Don't know about you guys but in Oregon Premium is 20 cents more expensive than Regular and I haven't a clue what E85 costs. I bought my V-6 because I wanted to be able to drive it everyday semi affordably as it is a very beautiful car.
