It happened to me again at a stop light, could it be getting to much or not enough air?

I'd say MAF and general car hiccup on the PS. My MAF is definitely off since my idle is 1000-1200 rpm since I cleaned it/changed the filter. Used to have a happy 750-850 idle, just like all F bodies (v6 and v8 alike).

:/

My idle is usually around 600-700. I just put a K&N filter in it the other day so we'll see how it goes

Have you cleaned the MAF recently?

CRC "QD Electronics Cleaner" in a red can with a picture of some connectors.

This is especially important to do occasionally when using an oiled filter.

Now it's doing something new.. What it's doing is shutting off when I'm driving. The music keeps playing, but everything else goes dead so I have to put it in neutral and start it back up. It has done this twice to me so far today. Any ideas on what it could be?

Use electronics cleaner. Hold the maf way out in an extended hand and start the spray off to the side of the MAF and then sweep the spray across slowly. You don't need to slam it with spray, just 'mist' it.

The other trick is to spray electronics cleaner into a cup and use a q-tip, but you have to be very careful touching the wires.

Maybe fuel pump? When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

It seems like your charging system is fine if your stereo stays on. With what you described, maybe it's not getting fuel (the surging, etc.).

These suggestions are in no way to be construed as a certainty as I've not had such problems - just some place to start investigating.

I've already replaced the fuel pump and the ignition relay. I'm thinking about just going somewhere and having them run a diagnostic check on it.

I do not have personal experience with them, but I've had friends use them with OBD-I vehicles. We're talking like 12 years ago here, but one friend had a Jet chip for his 88 Z24. It seemed to wake it up a little. Another friend put one on his 95 Avenger -- it didn't do a thing.

For $25, I suppose it's worth a try, but I wouldn't expect anything out of it.

I would not buy a performance chip. They are loads of crap, get a tune from frost if you really need tuning. Did you fix your electronical issues yet?
