Is the size of the tube the same size as the factory tube where the MAF samples the intake air from? If its different in size I would expect the MAF to not get the correct readings. LS3 C6 owners ran into that w/ the Hurricane intake, it was larger...problems, problems problems...Lol..

While developing our products, our concerns are usually the same as our customers concerns. We want good perfomance, good looks and an aggressive sound without setting codes or causing drivability issues. With our prototype piece, the fuel trims look good and overall performance is very good. It sounds awesome under hard acceleration, but much like stock at cruising speeds. Also, no codes!
BTW, the tooling coming along well. We should be molding the MAF/air box coupler by midweek.

The G8 guys love the Roto Fab intakes. A lot of them say it is the best fitting one out, fits like stock.

Will the Roto-Fab CAI work with the TVS2300 supercharger? Meaning, will it fit while connected to the supercharger and fit within the space between the radiator. Are the angles OK for the tube through the shield when connected? Hope I am making sence.

Our Camaro intake fits the car just as well as our G8 intake-no drilling, cutting, modifying, etc. We use stock mounting points for a simple installation.

We are trying to have a limited number of intakes available at the end of this week. The polished tube version will be first.

The black plastic tube should be available within the next 14 days. We have many color and finish options to choose from.
More info to coming this week. We will post price/availability for the standard intake as well as all of the optional combinations.

We've had this intake dyno tested on 2 cars, but both were modified. The numbers were very good-about +20HP. We expect good gains on a stock car but we don't have the numbers right now. I can tell you drivablility and sound were excellent during our testing on a stock L99 car. Dyno testing wasn't done on that particular vehicle because the car was still in the break-in stage and the customer didn't want us strapping it down to a dyno!

Although dyno numbers will probably be similar, the plastic inlet tube will probably perform a little better in most situations due to a slower rate of heat transfer. Also, the plastic version will be much less $! I'm sure a fair amount of people will want the polished tube anyway because it still performs well and stands out.

Once you seal out the engine compartment, where is the air getting pulled from?

FYI, last week, Vector Motorsports dyno tested our 2010 Camaro prototype air intake after running another aftermarket intake on the test vehicle. VMS contacted us during their testing because they weren't satisfied with the results they getting. We sent them our prototype which arrived at their facility the next day.

In back to back testing, our intake picked up 10HP over the aftermarket intake the car came in with. That was just changing from one to the other with no other changes. Needless to say, we were very pleased with the results!

There is more testing to come with our intake, but here's what I think is important for Camaro owners to know-
VMS has been an excellent dealer for us with our G8 products. Aside from that, we don't have any affiliation with their company. We didn't pay them to test our intake, nor did we do anything for them in exchange for a positive review. As a tuner, I'm sure they want to use products that will perform well and satisfy their customers. As a manufacturer, we're glad it appears our intake will fill that need!

Well said! Very Professional!

Our intake still picks up air from the same area as the stock intake. In addition, air enters through the various open areas of the inner fenderwell. If you pull your stock air box, you can see the gaps and openings. That's one of the reasons we went with this style of air box instead of a box with one inlet area as we do on some other applications. All of the air is indirect; therefore, its important to pull cool air from as many sources as possible. While doing so, it's extremely important to prevent the hot engine and radiator air from entering the filter.

Roto-fab CAI in production!

Here is the production intake system! Although we have many options, this is our "standard CAI." The retail price is $349.95. The inlet elbow and MAF housing are cross-link PE. Both hoses are high gloss black silicone hump hoses. The clamps are non-perforated stainless steel. The air box/wall is aluminum with a silver powder coat finish. The filter is an oil type filter with the end feeding cone and chrome end cap. (dry filters also available) Installation is very simple and all of the components fit very well.
This intake has performed very well on the dyno with a variety of modifications. We have several intakes being dyno tested on stock vehicles in the upcoming week. BTW, the pic of components shows the optional polished stainless steel tube.
