The decision isn't all about money. Sure it's nice that the V6 is a lot cheaper but even if they were the same price and got the same gas mileage and had the same insurance rates I'd still get the V6. I just like the lighter handling and the V6 engine sound more. That rumbly V8 just makes it sound like a junky old car to my modern ears that were raised on german and japanese econosportsters and I definitely have NO need to go any faster than the 300HP V6!!!

I'm in your boat. I can't believe I still haven't made a decision yet. I could have had the car already. I can afford the 2SS but demographic profiling says I should rightfully be in a Prius, particularly after seeing the movie, Crude. So the 2LT is a responsible compromise. I've driven both cars, and they drive totally different. But great. If either car in my color with a sunroof and manual transmission were on the lot, I would snag it. But to order, well...

I love my 2LT RS, but if I had to do it all over again................. I would go with the 2SS RS. I miss the sound and of course the power of a V-8. Don't get me wrong, the V-6 is sweet, but it ain't a V-8.

dont really feel like reading everyone elses comments, but heres my thoughts
1. the v6 front bumper is different and i dont like the jay leno chin effect its got going on 2. the v6 sounds like poo 3. the highway MPG is like 2-3 lower than the v6, not much of a difference to me 4. speaking of fuel mileage, last time i checked it cost me a whole whooping $2 to fill my tank from bone ass dry compared with premium over 87, come on people its not that bad 5. now that i have it, it gets better MPG in town than my 01 GTP DD 6. ive had enough v6's, they just dont have enough low end grunt to be fun |

So the handling of the SS is not as responsive as LT's?

Buy the V8 and you'll never regret it or think about it again.
But if money is a concern, buy what will get you through the day. |
