Haha, I checked first, but I think she came in at the last seconds before the light turn. Also, it was late at night, and we all know how great the visibility of a Camaro has looking at the back.

LOL... With most of the other stories here, I'm surprised she wasn't just pulling you over because you had a cool car and ask for a date ....

wow. that would suck to live in your state. 3 points is actually an average amount of points for most tickets.

This ticket is going to hit your insurance when you renew. If you have a clean driving record, you could fight it. In Memphis, you don't go before the judge unless you want to contest the ticket. If not, the prosecutor meets with you before hand and may give you the option to go to driving school, as long as you haven't been before. You still pay court costs and are on probation for 6 months, but the ticket doesn't go on your record. It's going to vary depending on your city, and it would be worth checking into. There are lawyers who specialize in these types of cases and it would be worth talking with one.

I went to do a gradual pass of a car and had it timed so I had plenty of room to get in front of him before needing to exit off to the right. When I went to change lanes in front of him, he was right off my rear quarter panel and was now pacing me at a higher speed. I figured it was some jackass that just decided he didn't want to get passed. So without time or room to hit the breaks and fall behind him, I punched it to create some space and got in front of him.

Of course, it was an unmarked cop and I got pulled over. He listened to my reasoning, and admitted that once he established my pace I wasn't speeding - until I punched it of course. He had no problem putting himself in the same situation and agreeing that my actions were appropriate (or if not appropriate, at least accepted as reasonable). He let me go and even offered an apology.

Treat them with respect for what they do, and 999 times out of a 1000 you'll get away with nothing more than what you deserve.

I say pay the fine as you admitted that you were speeding anyway. We all make mistakes, sometimes it takes a few slaps to learn the lesson. They aren't going to decrease the fine to be lenient otherwise how do they teach people to follow the law? You made a mistake, pay the fine.

Go to court...with a lawyer...be respectful and lie your ass off. She didnt pace you obviously and she would of said she radared you. Lie. Virginia troopers and northern va police are dbags and will lie to cover up their mistakes. Why fight with one arm tied behind your back?

thats a part im going to have to dis-agree with you about. i have never come across one to lie or even be a douchebag to me about anything. most of them if not all have been respectful.... (unless you count that time when i was REALLY stupid). either way it goes. normally when someone makes a post about a cop its because THEY did something wrong and not the cop and they are just looking for a way to get out of their own mess. and of course they bash the cop for doing their job.

after a while, hopefully lesson learned.... in my case.... put about $50K into your car (not counting what i paid for it). and you learn to respect it and dont do dumb shit anymore.

I will just put it this way. In 3/10ths of a mile with me entering I95 I got pulled over for doing 115 in a 65. From the time I got on the highway until I stopped the car. Trooper Ainus (real name) told me that he heard my car and sped up to catch me. I was going 80mph (still speeding I know...but I told the judge that too). when he actually pulled up behind me and hit his codes.

When I got to court all of the sudden trooper Ainus (real name) magically saw me the whole time I got on the highway and paced me at 115.

3/10s of a mile entering highway until I was completely stopped and he managed to come out of nowhere (behind me in traffic) and pace me at 115. In traffic I might add.

Does that sound logical to you? Was I going 80 in a 65...yes. Is that considered wreckless in VA....yes. Did the cop speed up to 115 to catch up to me...probably seeing as he said he didnt see my car (h/c 98ss) he probably heard me on the on ramp.

Oh and I got $1800 in fines and a 6 month suspension.

Right before my case, a guy on a motorcycle was in a wreck and fined and pled guilty for wreckless driving and got $1000 fine only. WTF? Why should my fine be more severe because I tried to defend myself without lying? Woodbridge cops are up toward DC tend to be good guys, but State and Stafford county and below are jags. Its a fact, I saw it on the History Channel.
