OK .... I smoke the tires in ALL FOUR setups above And as a note it is about 45 degrees outside.

I first tried with everything on like the top photo. Put it S, push down brake, floor gas pedal ... tire spin and smoke? Tap shift down to M1 as in picture with same results? All four secnerios get the same results when I try to floor the pedal ... smoking tires!

I can hold the throttle at around 1500rpm's before the tires smoke but NO WAY can I floor it as stated. With everything ON ... If I put it in S mode, hold the brake down. bring the revs up to 1500rpms .... let off the brake and floor it ... the car takes off spinning the tires and I have to let off some to get going?

I told my tuner I wanted to spin the tires ... maybe they turned all this off so I could

And I have the 2011 L99 A6 stock with a CAI, axle backs, x-pipe and tune?

Makes me wonder if in the tune may have done something..
Not sure how everything works like if the TCM controls the traction control or whatnot..

I can only think of 3 possibilities. Most likely disabled in the tune. the system is not working properly, thridly I do not think it is an actual launch control as on a LS3. I think the" traction control " makes calculations and limits rpm to prevent tire spin, if so maybe by mashing the pedal to the floor it overpowers it. I'll be happy to test that later

Just for shits and giggles I tried to beat the computer and get the "launch control" NOT to work when ingaged and could not do it. I would try stomping on it, tickling the gas then stomping on it and various things of that nature and not one would it rpm more than about the known 1300-1500 point. Normally without your foot on the brake if you mash the pedal your tires will or start to break loose and traction control engages but rpm's are not limited, this makes me believe that applying the brake is directly related to limited rpm at launch. Perhaps it could be bypassed in some way but WHY? You can selectively turn off and on via the switch. Now if a tuner knows if the rpm's can be adjusted via tune that would be of extreme benefit. This would allow adjustments to obtain the perfect launch rpm for your mods and create super consistant launches for drag racing.

Mine smokes with or without the brakes applied and how would I explain this one to the dealer

Lets see .... I found out online that mt car is suppose to hold the rpms at 1300 when you apply the brakes and floor it. I got a tune and now it smokes the tires

Maybe its time to just learn better throttle control :(

Thumbs up

OK" I think I may have found the parameters for this in HPT.
I have made some small adjustments and I was able to get it to stall to about 1500rpm. That was 200 rpm more than the 1300 I was doing.
I am out of time and day light today. I will test this more tomorrow at the shop and see if this is what we are looking for.

Well I got the SCT X3 tuner and uploaded the tune that Jannetty sent me. I'll have to wait until I hear from Ted and see if mine was disabled?

It sure would come in handy when drag racing!

Hum mm, was working on this a bit today and found out something else I have not read or herd of but when I was driving my car today and I had been messing around in M then had gone back into D. As I was coming to a stop I started to hit the paddles thinking I was in M and I seen it go into 6 then I hit 5 ,4,3,2 then it went into D when I came to a complete stop.
I did it again and it did the samething but this time I got into 3rd and got on it and shifted all the way back up to 6 while I was using the paddles then it went into D on its own after I let off.
Anyone else done this ? or did I just discover it ?

Yes, you can use the paddle shifters at anytime.

In normal "D" it will revert back after a few seconds but in sport or "M" mode once you hit the shifters it will remain that way until you hold the up shift for a few seconds or move the shifter back to "D".

I like to use "D" mode on the highway and tap shift down to pass ... much more fun than letting it do it on its own

Using tap shift in "D" must be a 2011 thing as it only works in "S" on the 2010.
