It is nice, wish I could afford one. If going for speed without FI (1/4 or autocross), this is the car of the three.

Yes, the challengers have AFM. I traded an R/T Challenger in on a 2SS Camaro. My wife still has her 2010 Challenger R/T.. Her Challenger is an automatic and in city driving the motor cuts back to 4 cylinders unless you hit it and it has an "economy" mode for active fuel management.

I don't know if the SRT8 has it but I believe it does.

Challenger has a lot more room than the Camaro. It also has more weight.

Challenger's back seat is more suited to kids... and they do have more room in there than in the Camaro.

One thing in the Challenger. The Challenger's computer "learns" your driving habits and adapts the fuel management system to it. So if you drive like granny in the city, your car will learn your habit so it may not be as responsive the next time you hit it. I know Challenger guys that "unplug" the fuse so the computer re-sets to default. The automatic challenger also has a little delay between first and second shift... a little sluggish shift maybe... It happened in both of our Challengers so I don't think it was a glitch.

I love the roominess of the Challenger. It's a much more comfortable ride. The question is are you getting the car for comfort or muscle?

Mods? Both have mods available that you can take well into 800hp and beyond ... all depending on the depth of your wallet.

I know a guy that has a Camaro into 800hp and I saw a Challenger that was up there too. There are a few 1000hp Challengers out there as well.

If you have questions on the Challenger, just hit me back.

re-calibrating the throttle after doing the #2 fuse pull helps the response tremendously. if you got a predator, diablosport just released a new feature in their latest CROM called "throttle boost". it opens the TB blade quicker resulting in a much more aggressive throttle response...how the car should have come from the factory.

If I want a DD with room, I'm buying a 300C SRT-8, not a Challenger. Basically the only real difference is the 4 doors.....otherwise it's pretty much a dead even setup...

Actually the 300C SRT8s (at least the old ones) were slightly shorter than a challenger, had a softer suspension setup (Charger was harder, Challenger found the sweetspot in the middle). And the 300C SRT8 does not have a manual option.

Eh...

The LC platform, of which the Challenger resides on, is a shorter version of the LX platform, of which the Charger/Magnum/300 all sit on. Not opinion, fact... the 300 is longer, but not by much...

My comment was also about a DD, not a coupe....

The point is very simple...if I wanted a DD the size of the Challenger, I'd just buy a 4door equivalent....considering I can get virtually the same performance and feel in the 300C SRT-8..

I know the Challenger is on a 4 inch shorter wheelbase (though the Challengers length is actually more than the 300, but the suspension tuning is totally different. THat may change for the 12 model, which I love and may be my favorite of the SRTs now, I was just stating that while on the same platform they are quite different cars. I do see your point as an everyday driver though, especially as the 300s had some nice luxury features not available on the other LX/LY SRTs.

I am glad that you said that. I was never interested in a Mustang, but I was sorry that I didn't get a chance to test drive a Challenger (I wanted to) before I bought my Camaro. I just couldn't divert from the fact that I am a Chevy guy and the Camaro has to be the best bang for the buck with all things considered.

According to your post, I probably wouldn't have liked the Challenger as much as the Camaro anyway, despite thinking that the styling of it is very nice (Challenger).

I've owned my Camaro for a little over a week and I don't regret it at all, the car simply never stops being awesome.

It drives really smooth, handles a lot better than I ever imagined and unless you’re constantly on the track the 10ths of a second difference stock won't matter. "Non-track" racing usually comes down to the driver each and every time stock vs. stock.

I really enjoy the nav system on the SRT8; I wish the Camaros came with that option. I would suggest getting the manual over the Auto-stick...you can't spell manual with out MAN and it is a man car (ducking from the ladies of C5)

Both cars are excellent choices and you really can't go wrong in my opinion with either choice.

If you’re really torn find a SRT Experience at a race track close to you and go drive every car in their line up at WOT on road tracks. It was the best driving experience I have ever had. You will pay 500 bucks (worth it eitherwaaayyy if you buy a SRT or not) and if you decide to get a SRT8 in 90 days from your track day dodge will take that price off your purchase. You will also get another SRT Experience with your new car as well so you can do it twice=) Check out the link below for more info.

http://www.drivesrt.com/en/track_exp...iew/index.html

Best of luck in your choice, either way you will have an awesome car that will be fun to drive!
Oh... man... my wife drives a Deep Water Blue Challenger R/T ... easy there on that "man car" thing. She loves her Challenger and says I'm a traitor for trading my Challenger in on a Camaro.

That hasn't been my experience. I've gotten more "looks" and compliments from women, by a long shot. But still kinda wish I had gotten the Camaro instead. May trade for one next year.
