I agree.....i always drive with them off in dry weather....i'm not putting the pedal down or doing burnouts....they wheels never spin unless i put the pedal to the floor.....and even then, unless i'm getting the RPM's up first....the wheels don't spin....find this hard to believe.

I have to say, I drive with them off & in Sport more that when they are on because I love the fast response. I always leave them on in inclement weather. I've never had a problem with it doing anything remotely close to that. Even when I get on it coming out of my neighborhood trying to pull into heavy traffic. I guess I am becoming more like my Dad as I get older.
God have mercy on me!! Respect the power until you learn to control it!! But, hey, expensive lesson learned. Now, practice in an empty parking lot with none of those concrete parking stops!

I did pretty much the same to the CTS-V I had...nannies off, snap hook into an embankment when the tires caught traction..never again
I was OK...glad you are too. |

Glad you didn't get hurt but sometimes you gotta feed some speed to your ride and $#@* happens. That's what insurance is for.

Actually, the best way is to take sports driving lessons. Even if he starts learning how to drive it slowly, there will be a time when he will do something "stupid", simply because he doesn't have the knowledge or skills necessary. Sent from my MZ604 using Tapatalk |

That is noob driving in a fast car, sorry to see man! My brother did that in his T/A a week after he got the car. He went from a grand am to the T/A and though he new how to drive
I drive without traction all the time, you need to learn the car, but I have been driving much faster old school cars for a long time, they dont come with traction control... so you must learn how to handle your car. Taking a fast car and gasing it around a corner is noob mistake #1, I see it all the time! Dont be scared to drive without traction control, just learn to not power slide your car on the street.

Nannies are great... if you always leave them on OR you never have them on. With them off you learn your rubbers traction point and how hard you can truely push it in a given situation, different road conditions, etc. If you normally have them on, you learn a completely different feeling car.

Traction control just lets people be LAZIER behind the wheel.
To the OP sorry for your misfortune however its all part of the learning curve. Next time lift give yourself some more room to play. I am also betting you left it in drive. A shift into second can get you sideways in a hurry.
