Regarding the Porsche passing the Camaro, I had the initial, "WTF!?!", but then quickly realized that we really haven't a clue as to what was going on at that time. There are so many possibilities regarding why the P passed the Camaro. Did it appear to you as though the Camaro sped off as quickly as it could have once the Porsche passed the Camaro? I don't think so. This is all for testing...which means it won't be running full bore 100% the entire time it's going around the track. At least, that's how I see it. I agree, it could be a V6 and there could be more than one. We just don't know. Let's try to do like Scott requested and hold our reservations until the final product is revealed!

Poor audio. All wind and tire noise. No heavy Chevy exhaust note. Sounds like a V6. I'll wait patiently for the road tests in Car And Driver, and Motor Trend Magazines, as those are my bellweathers.

We dont know if he was going full speed, what engine he had, if he tried to bet the porsche, what kind of tires were used, so dont be so quick to judge one video we have many more coming. |

I'm surprised so many people have never heard a V8 before. To me a V6 and V8 each have a very distinct in sound. V6's are usually higher pitched while V8's are low pitched exactly like in the video. If nobody noticed the Camaro was signaling to the side to let the porsche pass.

Definately not here to argue like Children
Im not here to get this post off topic, nor am I here to argue like children, its just that this car and the "suspension squish" proves it has suspension travel like an '89 Eldorado. Fact: Tire roar and evidence of hard push into and out of the corners such as this video exemplifies, on an embankment of what is more than 12 degrees, body-roll. You'll notice the Porsche did not have suspension compression as the Camaro did, as it slowed with its turn signal on to move out of the way. The Driver does look inexperienced, as a concession.
I was a pre-order, early GM client of the highly touted and massively failed Chevrolet SSR, when they had a pre-provehicle proving it would be manufactured within 6 months... 2 years later it rolled off of the assmebly line, I had long since cancelled... GM has a history, which is why I have pre-pro info this time. GM once again is having issues with testing and I believe we are seeing that in these videos. I know I am a dissenting voice and quite passionate as I am extremely dissappointed in GM and its production vehicles over the past 8 years (ex. GTO). I still have a Chevrolet Bow-Tie Tattoo on my right arm, colored the same as my first 2 Camaros as proof of my former loyalty to GM. So yea, I don't mind pointing out the failures I see coming out of Detroit(Australia) when its appropriate, and no, I will never be on this forum to sing praises when I see massive faults... I get the impression this site is here as a tool of GM, as their " black ops" if you will. Therefore, I will dissent when necessary. Further... ad hominem attacks because someone makes a typo...? Youch... I am sure I ll be remioved from this site since I can't seem to agree with everyone and praise something I don't believe in... That should be par for the course... I ll be interested to see just how much longer I last here...HAHA C3 For those who care* ---I traded my Bonneville GXP for my current GT Mustang, because I grew tired of promises from GM that they can't fullfill in reasonable time frames... ala the SSR. It has rattles, but what Ford doesn't? Quote:

The Camaro driver turned on his blinker, moved over and slowed way down to let the porsche pass. This was not a true pass. The Camaro saw him comming and moved over, deliberately. I have no idea why the Maro gave way, but the Porsche didn't blow buy the Camaro. Not to say the right Porsche couldn't. But, again, apples to oranges...

Another point to consider is these are in fact prototypes and if you know what that truly means then you know that they may break or fail in some random manner at any time. Best to keep from doing this while as far as possible from other cars, right? The 5th Gens are there with specific purposes and I'm sure none of them is to race. |

Oh God not C3PO again. First off, don't keep kicking yourself in the ass for buying a Ford. I just got finished reading some of the posts and watching the video. The car is flawless. As far as C3PO....hope you don't mind your doors being blown off by a Chevy, if that is indeed a GT that you own.
