I wonder if the gen 6 platform with mods will be able to take on Ferrari Porsche and Lamborghinis

One question is how the introduction of the 6th gen will affect demand for used 5th gens. Unless it's a superior car, it won't have the negative effect some are expecting.

The other question is how much will it make 5th gen owners want to get rid of their current cars. Again, unless its a superior car, not so much. A six year old 5th gen still has a lot of life in it and not everybody cares to have the latest just because it's the latest.

I'm sure there are lots of racers out there who are drooling over the idea of a 5th gen fire sale so they can build them.

Guessing the price of a commodity based on the past performance of similarly classed commodities is literally speculation. There were quite a few Chevy's built 55-57 and were this conversation occurring in 1957, some could well be saying dump your 57 because the next generation is coming out. Why is the value of a 57 today astronomically more than a 58 now? Lots were built. 69 Eldorado is another example. Some cars rise above others as time passes. I think the Gen 5 is one of those cars, others don't. Sure these cars will continue to depreciate. What non-exotic doesn't. However, there will come a time when the prices stop going down and start going up and my guess is that will be sooner for the Gen V than with most cars.

As a rule, cars are a lousy investment.

If they don't make another version of it the hot wheels addition will always be strong due to the ties with the toy.

Do not agree. Too many made, just a trim option, maybe worth a couple hundred more to the right person. However though in the long run little kids today may grow up wanting Bumblebee, so the cars may remain popular. But GM made a ton of 5th gens.

Drive your Camaro, enjoy, and live in the moment.

It's quite clear why the older crowd were looking at my car, but you are dead on the nail with the very young that were amused by our rides as well. They know .

Time will tell, let's see what happens.

In the meantime, I'm ENJOYING my ride, roger that!
Exactly! My car is all matte white nothing is black not even the grills But these kids that's like 5 years old came out of a restaurant and said hey bubblebee! Now how the heck did they know that and so this tells me that kids relate every 5th Gen Camaro to bubblebee ! All white Camaro and without stripes the kids still called it bubblebee! They were to excited! So these 5th Gens will be always something to have and has a bright future!

Lol... It doesn't matter about how many were made , just look at the 64 impala and 60's mustang. They made more of those than these and they're collectibles! So you might want to rethink that!

Lol... Hey, my friend! Why would you think so? Because look what's happening with the 15 mustang.

For me, a car never was an investment.
It was and still is, and always will be, a toy to me, plain n simple.

If I wanted some sort of, (ahem)...investment, I'd buy an "appliance", like a Hyundai or Yota.

Hell, I think that the former still offers that 4 year guaranteed, trade-in value program, and a 10 year, 160000mile powertrain. There's your "investment" albeit still a lousy one.

You left out NEW cars. I've always come out ahead with my antique collector
cars. The problem with the 5th Gen is you must wait 30 years for them to get
into that category..... Drive and enjoy.

Haha.. Surely you don't really believe trade value of your 5th gen will go up when the 6th gen comes out....
