I guess what we need is a reputable person from this site to create a poll to see who from the west coast and who from the east coast would caravan that far. Could we get 500+ cars? If it were set to be in heartland right now, i'm 60/40 on going.

I'd be willing to bet a caravan of 200+ Camaros coming out of California, midwest-bound on the interstate would get some media coverage. And just think of the money we'd be spending at restaurants, gas stations, hotels along the way. Once they saw the caravan on TV you'd probably see merchants all along the way trying to get us to stop by.

Gingerman is 90 minutes away. Joliet the same. There are several drag strips in the area. A venue like the Rosemont Horizon would be able to hot the parking lot activities.

Just thinking out loud here... http://www.laneautomotive.com/ hosted an over 1,500 car show at their facilities on Memorial Day Weekend. They are hard core car guys. If the organisers of the Camaro5 event are interested I would be willing to open a dialogue to see if Lane has any interest in hosting a Camaro5 event. Not only did they draw more than 1,500 show cars they pulled in more than 15,000 spectators.
