if your talking about the one that's hosted by the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Club, that place will be packed on May 5th, as that will be their season opener.. I went to the opener last year and there were over 600 cars packed in there.

Is it on a Thursday May 5th and not Friday May 6th? I thought it was on Friday nights last year.

I am going to try and go as well, but work will be the obstacle with all the bad weather we are having lately. If not we can all always hook up anytime we all can get together. I am not too far from you at all if you are in the Starwood area as I live in Smyrna off exit 66.

Missed you at Challengerfest this weekend Ray. Only a couple of Camaros showed up. I think they had a good time though. I was the event organizer and was so busy I only got to talk to them about 5 minutes, but hope they were treated well by the other attendees.

I know they got to run pretty much all they wanted.

Sorry I missed it... I had every intention of coming, but with all the storm outbreaks I have been super busy as work. The last 5 weeks have been 7 days a week. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. How did you do on the track? Who had the fastest car there?

I was running pretty decent. I'm getting more and more used to the car every pass. I ran consistent 12.0x to 12.1x pretty much at 119 - 121MPH. I was the event organizer so I was busier than a one armed paper hanger so I only got about 3-4 passes all day. Most folks got 15+.

The fastest car was a 11.0x at 122ish.

It was a great event. Had about 70ish cars show up and 200 or so spectators.

Weird..... I found this thread by doing a search for "Performance Garage Smyrna."

I'm in Spring Hill. Nice to see a bunch of other nice cars in the middle TN area. I drive an old '97 Dodge. Went a best of 11.98@124 at BB on street tires. If you guys haven't heard, there's a local non-brand specific forum called octaneforums. I hate "spamming" threads, but it will not be hard to find. A few of us may be meeting up in Cool Springs next Saturday, May 14th. GarageLogic may be there as well with his beast.

Speedy: Wish I had seen your post a few months earlier. I'm a track nooby myself and need the practice. My second visit to the track resulted in 12.1@119mph runs. I found out afterwards that race gas can actually LOWER hp, especially if you don't need it. I added a few gallons of 110 on top of a gallon of 93. Smelled nice, but lowered the performance. :(

Went to the Avenue in Murfreesboro last night. Bit of a drive for me but well worth it. I bet there were 600 cars there of all makes and models. Met quite a few Gen5 Camaro owners, too. Spoke briefly with garagelogic who told me he had been banned from this board but never got a reason why. I strongly encourage anybody within a hour or two of the location to go one weekend.

Too funny on how you found this post. But hopefully soon I want to get back to the track to race this time. The last time I went I watched Speedy and Dave Race and it was killing me to just watch. We should all get together and go one week-end. I would love to do it soon if the weather will stay straight because it's been kiiling us at work since I work for an insurance claims office.

Ah man, I wanted to go to that but got sidetracked with other stuff. I live about 15-20 minutes from the Avenue. Gonna have to make it next time. Is it every week?

Please post when you decide to go, as I need all the practice I can get. Of course, street tires and 3.07 gears are not helping any.

Anyone going to the Cruise-In tonight? It's starting to dry out in Spring Hill, but I'm not so sure what the roads look like near Murfreesboro.
