And for those that are north of the border, my guess based on the advice you guys have given, I'm getting between 28 000 and 40 000, and thats just being competitive with the mustang. all I can say is that your cars are cheap! I might have to do a bit of cross border shopping in a few years. the states are about a 45 min drive. . .

lets see, for the V6 its just shy of 26k and the GT is a bit over 35k, and those are for the coupes not convertables. In the US they cost 19k and 27k respectively. maybe we will get lucky since we are building the car

Another thing to consider when comparing 4th gen Camaro base models with what is considered base today are that you actually get more in a base model now, so despite inflation there is another reason why the cost are up. My 2001 Z base model did not have power anything, a rear window defroster or fog lamps and even Z-rated tires were a cost option, but take a look at what the base 2007 mustang GT has without adding any options. I dont remember paying extra for having an automatic trans either and that is a cost option now too :(

I think the story with those prices was that the person was asked to retract them, because it looked so professional, but was sooooo off base that it scared people.
Take a look at how much this person knew: 420hp 6.0L 6000 LS3 with DoD. So Don't read into that price guide, at all. ![]() GM has said there will be an affordable V8...I wouldn't consider 18k base affordable. Especially not if it's gonna compete against the Mustang. Look more for 25-26k on a base trim V8 model.... |

It was just a guesstimate made from another member over on CamaroZ28.com. He used current options/prices from already existing vehicles for a lot of it. To my knowledge he was never asked to retract it or anything. But I think it's a tiny bit high. Not super high, but a little. |

I believe its close.. its within the range of the current mustang pricing.. which we know is the target.. and yes the camaro will be a LITTLE bit more expensive.. but you get better modern suspension, more horse power, and a modern platform.
Base V8 Mustang MSRP = $26,585.00 The camaro guestimate price = $28,145.00 Difference = $1560.00 (uhh more standard features and HP) Base v6 Mustang MSRP = $19,995.00 The camaro guesimate price = $21,750.00 Difference = $1755.00 (same as V8) The difference is along $10-20 in a financed payment for a simliar product, go cross shop any other class and they all vary by some amount of money. PS - I dont think the maxed prices are wrong either.. a loaded mustang gt convertible can run you $40,745.00 MSRP depending on options. (Yes the convertibles add like 5-6 grand to the price..
