I got every option on my 1LE except moonroof and the steroe/sub upgrade and I paid less than $42K OTD.

People are getting hung up on the price and if it is "worth" it or not. I think the price reflects the limited availability of even getting a chance to own it. For this car and the people that will even get a chance to own it, money means nothing. In fact having money will not even guarantee that you get one, unless you pony up the scratch for the first one offered at the auction. After that, you will have to know someone or they might only be offered to dealers, etc. like the COPO Camaro is. Then the dealer can either keep it to bring traffic into the shop, or sell it for more than MSRP. The only shame in this is that I highly doubt any of these will be driven on the track or even at all, which is a crime.

It is also not a regular production car, which means it is not really intended for us everyday folks in first place. I think it is a statement for the what the 5th Gen Camaro can be and is. The Z/28, and bringing back the 1LE, is definitely the Swan song of the 5th Gen Camaro before it goes away. Appreciate it now.

If you have that kind of cash to throw around then I guess it is a good deal?
Correct me but I thought the Z/28 or especially the Z-28 was a car within most everyone's reach and the ZL1 was the rare and more expensive model. It seems things have switched, not saying that is good or bad, just the way it is. I was (and still am) so thrilled with our SS when we got it, then came the 1LE, ZL1 and now Z28. I always wanted a first gen RS/SS or Z28 but could never afford one that wasn't a beater, I guess things haven't changed all that much! I'm not knocking anyone at GM here, I survived the 70's, 80's, 90's and I think it is great to see all the american manufacturers putting these "muscle" cars out.

Most of what was removed costs very little, usually on the order of hundreds of dollars. The things that were added cost thousands. On top of that, spending thousands of hours testing & tuning becomes expensive, especially when you know you can only spread those costs over a limited number of vehicles.

If its not worth it to you, fine. Its not worth it to me either. But GM isn't adding a full 15 grand 'because they can' on the Z/28.

thank you for your kind words and pointing out that there ARE Camaros for just about everyone.......we've tried hard to give you the best bang for the buck - and the Z/28 is going to blow some minds.

I would be more interested in an affordable, lighter weight, option free (manual windows, door locks, no a/c or cruise control and non power seats, etc) than the 2014 Z/28 which is almost an exotic type vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I love the new Z, but it is just too far out of reach for many enthusiasts. I also understand production will be very limited.
we make a Camaro very much like that - it's called a 1LE. If you haven't driven one - you really need to!

I like it. I think you are getting what you are paying for. Lots of top of the line features. But I love my ZL1 and I will not trade it for anything!
What if I win the lottery? Well in that case I would get a bigger garage with one the those in it.

Don't forget to add a/c for $1000+.

This will be for collectors. Rough noisy ride, basically race tires, and no a/c or stereo don't make good street cars IMO. I would pick up a vette for less if I wanted a track car.
