You do not need heads to take advantage of the fast. Just a cam. By the time you throw heads on you are already almost maxing out the fast.

It seems people are giving you conflicting data. If your cam will be on the big side than you might consider taking the chance with it but if its a small daily driver cam than I would recommend the stock intake. How big is the stage 2 cam you are talking about?

Probably the same as Ace's cam in his L99

The specs of the cam are 224/236, .612/.612 lift, and 117 LSA

IMO that is what I would call a daily driver cam that will give you great street manners while having good torque and horsepower. I dont know about deleting the VVT as that cam will be doing but its your choice and im sure your aware of the trade off and extra money behind it. However I think it is a little small for the FAST. JMO. I too thought the FAST intake was a great piece even for a near stock car. The reason being is because I used to have a 4th gen Fbody with a LS1 and the FAST responded great on that motor especially with a mild to wild head and cam package. You did not need extra cubes or FI to take advantage of that intake on the LS1 but it seems that it is a different story for the LS3. The fact is that there are more than a few people that have lost power with that intake on their paticular combonation. Some others only gained 5-10rwhp at the peaks but lost 10-15 tQ and Hp through the rev range. That is not a trade off that you want. In fact with this heavy ass car I want little to no trade off. I would ask Livernoise what they think you should do. I hear nothing but great things about that shop and I am sure they will set you straight.

sorry to bring up a dead thread but i have a couple questions to ask myself.

on the dyno was the converter Locked or Unlocked? (this makes a HUGE difference)
what gear was it dynoed in?

you have a FAST.... what size FAST? 78? 90? 92? 102?
and you didnt change the throttle body with it? if you didnt you certainly wont see MUCH gain because you are still bottlenecking the air coming in with the smaller TB than the intake is meant for.

also, your cam could be your weak point not the FAST (for which i hear is smaller? than the LS3). you cyl. are also only getting in as much air as the valves let in/out. (which the stock intake was already probably allowing in more than enough air)

your A/F looks good. how does the seat of the pants gain feel?

and like said earlier in this thread. Track times is what counts (and whether or not you are happy with how the car FEELS). dyno's are tools used for tuning and getting a car to run right.
