Very touching story Scott. I am sad to see Thor go away and hope the next owner has as much passion for him as you do. It's only a car if some people only new.Well with Thor being gone I hope you will still visit Camaro5 from time to time.I enjoy all your reads, Thanks Scott.

He cannot buy it, because GM isn't selling it. The car is a very early VIN, and so would need a retrofit to be sold to the public. GM, instead, uses those cars for testing purposes...

I wish they would consider alternative options, though. :(

I never got to see Thor in person, but I did get the opportunity to meet Scott in Austin. It was a great experience being able to meet and talk to someone who was so passionate about the Camaro brand. Some cars are "just cars" to some people, and to others they are much more. They are a friend...a companion...an unforgetable experience. Cars grow on people when the owner appreciates and enjoys what he has. To me Camaros of any generation inbody that. I personally have not been able to purchase my 5th Gen, but I do have a 3rd Gen that is much more than "just a car". It is something that identifies and represents who I am as a person. I really hope that Scott is able to get Thor back in the near future. When you stop and think about it, Thor was much more than "just a car" to the Camaro community and to GM. Thor alone has influenced so many people who had not yet decided what they're next car was going to be. Best of luck to Scott and his new car (maybe a Z28...or a SS/RS Convertable) and best of luck to Thor. Thank you both for the great moments and memories.

I know what you mean wanting and waiting to get into your car. I say "Hey buddy" or "Hey Bee" evey time I walk into the garage.
My wife always says to me, "It's just a car!"
IT'S NOT JUST A CAR, when you make a small child jump up and down yelling "Bumblebeeeeeeee!" or a fully grown adult walk up and kiss the front of your car. A 4x4 truck pulls along side you on the freeway and gives you a "ThumbsUp". You get a wave from a Dodge Challenager SRT8 going the opposite direction.
IT'S NOT JUST A CAR. It's a "Legend in it's on Time" just like THOR is and all or our Camaros, 5th gen to 1st gen.
Scott, you and all of the GM employees must be "CONGRAULATED" once again on a very well done job. Although, there have been some small issues, but there are always issues for a first year production car. This is a very well planned, designed, and built with pride, LEGEND. And to coin a phrase from a competitor company, "Quality is job one". It definitely is on this car!
