+1 with some ported heads. I can easily make the drive from OK.

tuning out afm doesn't remove VVT does it?

No. You can keep VVT and tune out AFM.

Yes, it will be able to be run in any of the LSx engines

Like any camshaft, with the wrong combo of duration, lobe ramp rate, LSA/ICL, etc you can run into piston to valve issues. But we're doing the R&D so you won't have to guess what will and will not clear! We'll have a variety of camshafts available from mild to wild to choose from which will clear without flycutting your pistons. We're very excited about this go-round on the engine dyno and the new power that's coming from the VVT combos!
