I don't know why they would with info like this. That move would cost them a HUGE loss in sales. No. I haven't heard anything like that nor has anything like that been discussed on this board. The last time something like "pushing back" sales was after the President met w/ the three heads and decided all cars must get some 30/35mpg's by the year 2012 or whatever it was. They originally nixed a few plans for certain vehicles, but kept the Camaro on schedule. |

I should think.............
I should think that the Camaro will be released Sept 08. Cheveolet (nee G.M.) nedds to make a home run on this car. I am waiting patiently like everybody else. I have a 1971 Jensen Interceptor which is the British Camaro, if you will. The Camaro is so close to the specification that it is scary! In fact there is a new version of the Interceptor the S, that willbe using the Camaro drive line from what I can tell. The price how ever will be $150,000 U.S. I'm planning on selling my car for the Camaro. At less than half the cost of the Jensen I think it will be a better buy, although the Jensen will be built by hand in the true British coach building tradition.
Jeust a side note I can remember every Camaro that ever came out and I can remember the car was going to be called the Panther. So just another waiting game, for what I hope to be a world class car!!!! |

Maybe it's just me, but I think they'd be much better off releasing the Camaro at the beginning of summer. Summer '08, preferably.
There's already been some concern expressed about sales in the snow belt, but if they release it in January, or even September, they may lose some of their big kick-off sales. I live in the northwest, but we get very little snow and ice around here, so I just want my car as soon as they cut the ribbon, or whatever they're going to do. |

Production dates are pretty much set.. they need to revamp the factory which is just now starting up I believe... reguardless of when is good for sales.. what it will be, will be.

In the recent video that was posted elsewhere Scott said the Camaro would be showing up on dealer's lots in February 2009.

Living in the Snow belt...as I do...I think it'd be smart to release it in January. Let all the non-snowy places have a field day, and take care of any possible recalls, then let the snow places bombard the dealers come Spring!

I don't think I'm gonna have a choice. I'll prolly need to drive it for about a year in the winter...(shudder) I'll wash it every day unerneath for salt-reppellant...I promise!

Just curious... What exactly makes driving a car in winter so bad?
My best guess is they put salt on the roads, which sticks to the car, which causes rust, especially in addition to the water from the snow. I know it's a dumb (and off topic) question, but in Vegas we get snow once a year if we're lucky, so I don't know much about it, or the effects of weather in general. |

That's exactly what happens w/ the salt and all causing rust. Not good for da car.
