AC/Radio screen?
So I was browsing the Hi-resolution pics in the photo section when I realized there is a screen for the AC and Radio which is PROJECTED or something like that similar to a HUD!! I dont know if this has ever been addressed before but I think it is AWESOME. It woud be especially cool if HUD was offered for the regular gagues as well.

My only question is, what is the radioactive symbol plus on/off switch for?

I hadn't noticed that HUD-sytle climate/radio screen. Good catch, thanks for pointing it out! very neat to see in production for sure.

And I read in a mag a looooong time ago not to expect that to happen either...don't recall which mag...but it was said. At least it wasn't anything official from GM.

I would not be surprised at all to see a real heads up display for the camaro. They did take some styling cues from the F-22 jet fighter, and HUD's have been on cars for what, 5 years? As for the little display you are talking about, I don't think we will see it on the camaro. Probably going to go with something more conventional

I doubt it. The cost of something like that would be way to much......

Actually a hud isn't that outrageous as it used to be.. and its popping up in a lot of places.. I can see it as GM's version of fords my color option.. a gimmick thats not necessary but people will spend money on to be different...
Oh the reason i say its not outrageous is because cars like the Buick rendezvous and the GMC Arcadia have it and its trickling down.. I figure by 09 it will become one of those options available on many vehicles.. PS the GMC acadia hud option is only $350.00

I dont think HUD for normal gauges will be too farfetched, but for the radio and a/c i dont think it will be HUD. I'm just counting on a normal radio with its own screen and same with the a/c.

I had never heard of HUDs in cars before, but I just did a Google image search and they look ! I definitely want one!
I just hope, if they do offer it, they choose a nice looking display style. |

Check out Corvette's HUD. It's awesome, even has a G-meter.

That is pretty sweet! It could be dangerous to show people their G's though... I can just picture some kid peeling out around every turn to try and get the "high score".
