Hurst Redline Camaro LS

In today's Detroit News there is an article about the Hurst Redline being offered through Marty Feldman Chevrolet dealerships. They will offer a hurst shifter, suspension upgrades and graphics. The shifter is supposed to be a pistol grip type. They only had exterior shots in the paper. Probably have something on their website or at the Hurst site, will have to look and see. Article says they are going after the female buyer. Not sure why they said that, it will be an instant turn off to the guys. Package is about 5k or so, great way to start a V6 project car, get the suspension, exaust upgrades and do the motor stuff yourself.

Oh, almost forgot, car has special wheels and redline tires like the old school Camaros had.

Cool stuff!

The seats are nice but that pistol grip is fail. The only good one is the old school MOPAR pistol grip.

I hope that HP is not at crank. I know of a few turbo six's that get at least 400 HP and 400 TQ at the rear wheel. For 50K its better to buy the SS or pay 10K more and get a ZL1.

Yeah the 360 is a bit low for a turbo 6. I wouldn't pay 20K extra for that. The torque is nice though

Seats are nice... everything else is just OK...

As stated above, it's approaching ZL1 pricing which kind of prices it out of relevance for me. "Why would I buy that when I could..." Corvette GS, ZL1 etc

Here's the pics:

...there's something really unappealing about that shifter to my eye, not sure what it is... I'm sure it's a quality part though if it's a Hurst.

Today's news?

It looks like this car was released back in August 2010. Are they just now going into production?

Gotta admit, it looks pretty sweet, and it's definitely a unique piece. For Camaro collectors with 50k to drop, it'll be a nice choice I think. Worth every penny to them, not to me.
