Euro trendy???
I'm totally cool with not being folks' cup of tea, and they'd rather keep their car and upgrade it themselves...but glitter? |

I love my 2012 ZL1, and really like what they did to the 2017 ZL1 with HP and weight. What a difference those two numbers make in any car. Now, I already have digested the 30% depreciation cost when I bought my existing car, and don't want to contribute a whole lot of money to depreciation in the future. I also went and tried on the C7 Corvette and my 6"6" frame is way to big for that 6' and under vehicle. So what does a tall "hot car" guy do. This time he waits until the new cars are bought, and ready for re-sale. Then I might swoop in and buy a second ZL1 to match the CRT I already have in possession. Don't tell the wife I'm having these thoughts, she just wouldn't understand.

One thing about the 5 compared to the 6 is that I'm on the road a lot and hardly ever see a Gen 5 ZL1. The Gen 5 Camaro came out in late 2009 but they didn't release the ZL1 till spring of 2012 and only made them for 4 yrs. With the new ZL1 coming out so soon to the release of the 6 and the fact that they will make them for at least 6 yrs there is going to be a lot of them. It is going to be an incredible car and I will for sure get one, but I will wait till they are out a few yrs and they want to deal on them. They will never have the impact the 5s had when they came out being the first ZL1 since 1969. They will be like a C7 Vette, you see them all the time. I will keep the 5 when I get the 6, I think it will always be a special Camaro, plus I love it.

REMORSE? Hell no! This is the meanest most enjoyable car I ever owned. Saying that I will also say in my opinion the 2017 ZL-1 looks bad ass. It would probably take one of those 20% off MSRP at the end of a year sometime in the future to get me to trade my 5 Gen in. I really don't see that kicking in this year or next year either.

As I said before, I was never one of those guys who needed to have the newest thing on the block, but I did enjoy the attention my ZL1 got when I first got it. Because it was such a rare car 3 years ago, it drew lots of attention. Even now, seldom do I see them in the wild. At car meets...yeah, but seldom on the road. Though I would expect a similar experience from the new ZL1, for me it's all about the potential performance. I can't wait to see the numbers it puts down in the upcoming months.

All though I do think the new zl1 is bad ass, I won't be upgrading. I plan on keeping my fifth then and putting a 70-73 split bumper in the garage next to it eventually. Also plan on building to 800+hp down the road and the LSA is more than proven capable of that easily.

not overly thrilled by either gen 5 or gen 6. my Z is a nice car but I don't get a thrill driving it. I like the older cars when I pulled into a car show with them people come around and ask question about them what motor how did I do this or that. now I get nice Camaro as they walk by.
