Ground effects before or after your buy your Camaro?

If you were about to buy a Camaro and you knew you were without a doubt getting the Ground Effects package... Would you want it installed/painted to match at the dealer before you pick it up or would you rather wait to get comfortable around it because it makes it lower to the ground.. Everyone of my friends and family members are afraid the Ground Effects will be dangerous when it comes to drive ways.. What do you all think?

The ground effects do not cause to many problems. I would get used to them first then paint. I personally have the ground effects painted to match my stripping. The color is inferno orange with cyber gray stripping and ground effects. View my garage for additional pics. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I would get them before, if you know you are getting them anyway. The dealers I have dealt with would take upwards of weeks to do that work after the fact.

The OEM ground effects don't lower the ground clearance. I just had mine installed if you want to see what the install process looks like it starts on post 17 - The earlier pics are without GFX.

I would get them installed and paint matched by the dealer, the way GM should have did this from the factory.

How much did they want for the paint to match on the GFX?

Also, by buying them from the dealer it will be on your window sticker. This will mean a lot 10-30 years from know and you are able to show it has a rare orginial option that you have ordered at the factory.

My GFX are fine on driveways. Barely scraped a curb when I accidentally parked too far, but the scratches are super light. Other than that, no problems. I actually had mine installed right after I bought the car. I saw a black SS with GFX and stripes that was sold on the lot already, so I told them Id get a regular black SS, but they had to copy the one that was sold. Mine are unpainted to match the stripes.

If you are dead set on the GM GFX, get it done at the dealer. Mine was actually delivered before my car arrived but had to be sent back because the one GM sent was one for the V6 model. It took only a few days for the correct one to arrive then a couple of days to paint/dry, then a couple of days to install and let the 3M tape to fully cure.
Keep in mind, painting the GFX voids the GFX factory warranty. It doesn't make sense but that is what happens.

It really depends on your driveways. With mine, I have to approach it very slowly and at an angle AND I still scrape the bottom of the front spoiler almost every time...It's also the reason why I can't even consider lower springs.
