05 G35 coupe vs 2011 Camaro 2SS
I currently have a 2005 G35 coupe 6 speed, and I am trying to convince myself to trade it in for the 2011 2SS camaro. People are work are telling it's a step down, but I have always loved camaros. I am trying to think of reasons I can tell them why the Camaro is better.
2005 Infiniti G35 Black coupe, 6 speed, fully loaded, 31k miles. I want the 2011 2ss blk/blk, rs package, white stripe, hurst shifter. |

the people you work with are morons...
Their only reason is probably the label. Infinity VS Chevy. Which is a lame excuse...

My brother has a 2010 g37s, and I personally have driven and raced g35's. As far as pure speed there is no comparison, a camaro SS will leave either the g35 or g37 in the dust. Looks wise, I LOVVEEE the g37s, but the camaro still is drop dead gorgeous way more so than a g35. The only advantage the infinity's have is interior. Camaro is very plain and simple, ergonomics are not so well thought out for instance if you dont warn your passenger when you pull upthe handbrake chances are your hitting them. But g35 to camaro SS is not a downgrade, you will be upgrading!

+1 while I am not a G35 or 37 fan, I do think that when heavily customized they do look pretty clean. HOWEVER....Camaro wins by far for looks and performance IMHO... I think the interior, however simple it might be is well though out and un-complicated.

^ its not all about hp, with that said we all like it very much...
i went from a pretty heavy modded 05 sti to a 2011 camaro. i herd the same things form my friends and allot of it had to do with this IMPORT VS DOMESTIC crap. Meaning anything imported is better quality, and coming from infinity that is pretty hard to argue but not really that true anymore. do some research, have facts to come back at them. the camaro is a great platform. My sti would have taken about 85% of the camaros on this fourm (as time goes on that wont be the case, since there still so new. (IM SO EXCITED!)... but i got board... anything can be made fast or handle, its what makes you happy that matters. me i wanted something new, edgy, had a great culture, and was fun to drive! so i bought one! |

![]() You have to look at the history of American Muscle Cars over the years, they would of, and still can blow imports away. Personally, I would rather stick to purely proven muscle over any NEW AGE import. |

My buddy has a 2010 G37 sedan. It's really nice quality on the inside, definitely better than the Camaro. However exterior is NO comparison, the Camaro wins that hands down. The G37 looks just like any other sedan/coupe. As for power, SS will slaughter it. I have a 2LT/RS and have dragged against my buddy's G37, of course he won but against an SS, not even close. I comes down to what YOU want. If you like the high quality exterior then stay with whats you have but if you want one of the best looking cars (imo) and a much more powerful car, then go with the Camaro SS.
I can't speak for previous year models but the 2010 G37 is FAR from crap, the interior is really nice, and the seats are more comfortable. It takes a lot for me to say this because I too don't like imports.

I had a 03 g35 coupe 6MT black w/ chromed factory rims, brembos and Borla cat back. I loved it and babied it for 6 1/2 years and 29,000 miles. Then I traded it for my 2010 SS/RS LS3. Wow, no comparison. This is a car with killer looks and the guts to back it up. If you are a shy person do not buy it as you will draw attention and conversation from strangers on a regular basis. I've done no performance mods and don't plan to for now but the opportunity and ease of doing so with the LS3 is in a league of its own. The interior thing is way overstated. The g was nice on the inside but the Camaro is just as good to me - not a biggy on my list. But that big V8 rumble and all that torque is. Go drive one. I bet you make the jump.

Those cars are 2 DIFFERENT animals alltogether. I tradded in a FULLY modded 2006 Acura TL with a manual and even though I LOVE my 2SS/RS LS3, I really miss my Acura.
If SPEED is what you want, the SS will SMOKE the G35, OR a new G37S. |

That's the same car I traded in, you won't miss it. The camaro gets way more attention and is a $hit load faster. To many kids are getting used g35 coupes these days, it's not the car it used to be. I knew I was getting rid of mine when I saw a lowered one with neon light and a huge wing. If I see to many camaro's with the same I'll get rid of it as well.

This sums it up. In terms of look and performance alone the Infinity idnt even on the same planet. Hell even a V6 10' model will out perform an 05 G35.

well i am a fan of the G37s.. the g35s are a little to old for me... believe or not i wanted a G37 before i wanted a camaro... because i like the looks of it, and the interior. but the camaro was so new at the time and so cool.... so i had to get a camaro .... but if i could go back in time i probably would have gotten a 370z... just to many camaros on the road..i was plaining on getting a z06 in 3 years, but now i think i will get a gtr or R8, just to many vettes and camaros.... in 3 years mark my word.. camaros will be everywhere
