Thank you Camaro5.com

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting but i've been lerking in the background for sometime now. I was just wanting to say thankyou to camaro5.com and all of its members for providing all of the information that they have. I don't know where I would be without you guys.

Anyway I took the plunge and ordered my camaro yesterday.

2ss Silver ice Mettalic / Hurst Shifter / IOM interior

I have a couple of ?s
I know that there has been about 10,000 orders taken thus far, but I am the first person to order from my dealer.(got lucky there.)

What I'm wanting to know is if being first in line at my dealer will allow me to get my car early even though I ordered so late in the game.

Welcome to the site! Glad that like most of us you have found this site helpful. To answer your question, take a look at this thread - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11111

There are lots of thoughts about when people will get there cars, but there are just too many unknowns (at least by the public) at this point to say for sure. But it is fun to guess!

Some of the orders placed are in excess of the allotment many dealers have been granted. That will allow your car to come ahead of cars that are not yet allotted. I'm not certain of how priority works in the big picture, though. A dealer or GM insider would probably be able to explain how this works. Until they give input, I can imagine that one option is that dealers from one side of the country will get allotments filled before others. Alternatively, all of the first allotments may be filled before the second and others are filled. In this case, each dealer will get 1 car until every dealership has gotten 1. Finally, there is the option that more urban environments will be filled first simply because that will give the new car more exposure to the public. These are all ideas, but none of them may be the way that GM does it. Someone with experience with GM allotments will have to give their opinion on this.

the fact that you are first in line at your dealer means just that. when they get your car in, you get your car. now.... the question that remains is when will they get your car. as a safe estimate, be prepared to wait till summer time to be driving off the lot in your new camaro.

Yeah the impact of seeing that car for the first time kind of stayed with me. Love at first sight you could say.

Welcome to the site, BigSlik. It's hard to believe that on Jan. 3rd you were the first order at that Memphis dealership. Remember they can tell you anything.
I'm not sure how to tell you to absolutely verify you're first except to look at the Order Workbench printout. Your priority will be listed near the bottm right side of the first page. That of course should be 1, although I'm not sure they can't fudge that.
Good luck, and congrats!!!

Well thats an interesting situation because Bill Heard Chevrolet went out of business recently and they were bought out by the Sunrise Dealers, which have always been Pontiac Buick and GMC Dealers. They just moved in and added Chevrolet. So I was the first customer to order the Camaro.

Hmmm...my dealer seems dead-certain that when they go into production, his dealer will be getting Camaros in starting the next month (mid-March).

I was 7th in line for mine. Then again, Fox Chevy is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) Chevy dealer in Maryland.

I definitely want my car well before summer...
