Brembo install and weight specs

I installed the Brembo calipers, braided lines, and drilled/slotted rotors today. I had to trim the rear dust shield to fit the larger diameter rotors.

Total install time = 6.5 hours

Total cost $880

The rear setup...

And the front...

Front

Rear

V6 rear caliper is 7.5 lbs
SS rear caliper is 6.5 lbs
V6 rear rotor is 15.25 lbs
Drilled rear rotor is 23.0 lbs

Front V6 caliper 16.5 lbs
Front SS caliper 11.0 lbs
Front V6 rotor 21.2 lbs
Front drilled rotor 24.5 lbs

Rear weight difference = +6.75/side +13.5 lbs
Front weight difference = -2.20/side -4.40 lbs

Total added weight = 9.1 lbs

Sick setup man! Looks really good....... I remember reading that you said when you put new pads on that you need to rough up the rotors or something along that line. What/how do you do that?

Take 180 grit sticky sandpaper on a piece of pane glass and sand the pad to break the surface glaze. Pretty simple. The rotors were fleabay SS kit.

I used the same type V6 rotors at Sebring to try them out and they held up really well! The zinc coating got kinda cooked but they took the heat OK.

I got the fronts from a guy on fleabay. For the rears, I'm doing the swap for the my V6 calipers with Gearhead Customs (he has a thread in the "brake and suspension" section). It took almost 3 weeks to get them but all I have to pay is shipping and a little prorated wear on the pads ($25) so, like $80 total for the rears.
