BMR Trailing Arms Grease

Hello,

I received a set of BMR trailing arms for my camaro and they look great. I wont be installing these until spring but on the instructions it says:

Grease both fittings approximately 3-4 pumps or until you see the bushing just start to bulge.

It does not specify the type of grease needed. I did not get the grease from BMR.

I also read somewhere it said to use a synthetic grease, but most of these greases are synthetic these days. Does it need to be a silicone type or something else?

Thanks.

I've got a set in my truck to go on soon if that counts.

I'll be using whatever is in the pump in my tool box... IMO don't think it matters much... but I could be wrong...

Any multipurpose/ lithium grease will do ..You will need a grease gun.

Use synthetic grease for poly bushings. Thought instruction said it. I pre-greased them before install to ensure air pockets were purged. Packed the outer bushings well, too. I don't like squeaks. I can't find tacky Super Lube in any local shops so used amsoil. After installed and wheels down, greased fittings again.

Greasing any rotating poly bushing is critical for noise reduction.

If at all possible it needs to be a silicone-based grease. Petroleum based greases tend to deteriorate polyurethane bushings over time and should be avoided. We use a specially formulated silicone grease designed specifically for poly bushings. If you can't find silicone based lube, use synthetic marine grease. It's a little stickier and not so prone to washing out of the bushings...

Synthetic marine grease will work and you can find it at Home Depot.

Any poly-urethane bushing will squeak if it is not lubricated properly. I would recommend going back and lubing all bushing sleeves and the bushing faces that make contact, doing that should take care of your issue. Also you will notice the cold weather will bring out the squeaks more often.

It is definitely possible, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. Maybe crawl up under the car and see if there is grease on any the bushings and if you don't see any that will be your issue.
