Are you worried about "problems" with the 2010 Camaro?
A lot of people say to never buy a car the first year it comes out, because there could problems and kinks that could be worked out during the 2nd model year of its production.
Do you think this applies to the Camaro? Are you worried about any potential problems with the 2010 Camaro? |

We've heard over and over again, that it is taking so long for us to get our cars so it can be absolutely perfect, and they don't want to give us a car that has a bunch of problems.
so i have faith that it will be a good car.

It's wise to beware of first-year cars.
But the Malibu had an absolutely flawless launch, and they want the Camaro's to be even better (hence the delay). I am not worried one bit. |

I'm with Pink on this one, which I believe is a repost btw, that Gm has taken the time to develop a product that will satisfy.

I would be more worried if the drivetrain or platform were brand new, but these are proven components. I have no hesitation. |

If they had still been planning on Feb 16th for production I'd have been a little worried since there seemed to be a few things that sounded like they needed buttoning up. But since they decided to give themselves another month I'm not worried at all about any recalls happening with this first model year.
Even if something came up I wouldn't mind if I had to take it to the shop a few times this year. It's still worth getting it right away. There is no way I could wait a year for a 2011 Camaro.

I've had "problems" with every new car I've bought at one point or another...including Acura's, BMW's, Lexus, Subaru and GM. None more than the other all things relative. Many were first year models as I seem to be drawn to them.
However things were fixed fast and under warranty. Really not a big deal at all. |

Hi guys. I agree with Pink and Dragoneye...after all, haven't the fleet cars been driving around the country sending back telemetry to find potential problems? Fbodfather stated that the production delay was so they could bring a Camaro that we would be very happy with. He has never lied to any of us on the various camaro sites he also participates in! Besides, that what the waranty is for!!

I'm not buying until next year but not because of the initial launch year, I just want to get my wifes car paid off first. I will say that it went to production pretty quickly as campaired to a normal situation from what Scott and others have said.
That being said, if I were buying this year, I wouldn't hesitate. Also consider, GM can NOT afford to put a lemon out. They know this and contrary to what many think, they are not dumb enough to mess that up. It'll be fine. |

The last three cars I have purchased were first year production. Minor problems that were fixed right away on one of those cars, performed flawlessly after that. I am not worried at all.

Funny thing about this question and with Camaro's in general. Its been my observation or opinion that in the 3rd year of production of each generation the car got better and nicer looking. Mostly from cosmetic changes etc but the Gen5 Camaro is coming out strong and GM has available several items to make the new Camaro even nicer. But back to the orginal question, No I'm not worried. I think lots of time and testing has gone into the Gen5 Camaro and we are going to get a good and reliable product.
PS Bring back the Z !!! (Shit did I just say that? lol)

I see no reason to not be optimistic, especially after the stellar Malibu launch. There is of course no guarantee of a flawless first year for the Camaro, but the 30 day delay should raise everyone's confidence in a successful delivery, certainly not cause worry.

If I were gonna worry about something it would be are they ganna have a Z28 or something later. Or a few options not avail. at launch but I still wouldn't hesitate.
If you have an opp. to buy this car do it. |
