Want to add Headers/Tubes - Re-Tune?

I have a CAI, Corsa Exhaust and Street tune (2011 SS ). I guess it's time to add the headers. What will I gain etc? Sound? Difference between long and short? Do I need a re-tune? Who installs? Thanks....

its going to be a big difference in sound and power. you need a re-tune to get the best results. my local shop did a re-tune on my car for 200

After reading here, I think I would do the long tubes. But what about flow-cats? I guess you would do both? How much? Will it match up with my Corsa exhaust?

I have BBK LT's, High flow cat's CAI on my car. Before it was tuned it was 412/412 up from 378/378 on the same dyno on the same day.

It's getting tuned tomorrow, but I won't have access to the BBK dyno for a while to see how it works after the tune.

You can do the install yourself in about 2 hours. I'm not sure about other brands, but the BBK LT's come with high flow cats. Depending on what size headers your wanting to go with (1 3/4", 1 7/8", 2", etc.) there are a ton of different brands to go with.

There is a HUGE sound difference switching out the headers to LT's. Keep that in mind before you go that way. If you don't want loud, don't go LT. Keep the factory exhaust manifold and just add either a cat back system and high flow cat's or an axle back system for a more agressive tone.

Just my .02

Good luck with your choice.

I was in same situation a few months ago and went the Stainless Works LT route. Got it groupbuy with highflow cats. LTs and High flow cats bolted right up to my Solo Mach XL exhaust. Its not loud at all when cruising, but sounds like a muscle car. Open her up and WOW!!!!!!!!!! I have a few vids of sound from in cabin and behind car. I have a vid of cruising in cabin with radio on pretty low and you can barely hear the headers just to give you an ideas of exhaust volume.

Yes they come together. I believe i paid about 2,000 for everything. Did the install myself... I didn't use cats, but I did buy them. I went with the off road pipes. It's your choice on cats, you can use the stock ones or go with hi flow ones. I got the hi flow. But I'm only putting them on the car when I have to pass emissions.
