footwell led lights

so i finally installed my AAC Footwell Lighting today, but am not very happy with the outcome.

They dont seem very bright, or at least compared to the other pics i have seen on AAC page. you cant even see them with just a bit of light outside, yet, on AAC webpage, you can see in the pic below that they are bright as hell and seems like the picture was taken in a lighted garage. i had to wait till it was totally dark outside to see them light up good, but not as good as on this picture.

I am using the Flex LED Strips as opposed to the CCFL tubes. I was told there would be no difference in the brightness or ambience of the 2 and reccommended to get the strips cause the CCFL tubes broke easily. Did i do something wrong? i wired it exactly as the DIY forum. are the LED strips not as bright as the CCFL?

What color did you get? They don't look very bright. I bought the blue led strips but have yet to install them.

i just did them and they came out pretty good, where did you mount them, that is key, i set them up so they work with the interior lights so they can be dimed and brightened

Thumbs down Tried them both

Had the ccfl tubes installed for one day and one quit overnight sitting in the garage.Got and installed a replacement and after installing replacement it only lit up 3/4 the way across.
So i took them out and installed the led strips and wallah,no problems, bright enough for me.Mine appear brighter than yours but not a bright as the picture in the ad.Probably enhanced lighting conditions to show optimum results.I like my intensity.
