HOW DO WE LIKE THE LED TAIL LIGHTS? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

It's been awhile since we started receiving and installing our new tail lights. I was wondering what kind of comments the rest of you are getting on this mod.
My first and best was from a 9 year old kid in Sams parking lot. I did the Auto start thing from about 30ft away while Mom, Dad and the kid were loading their car. My car roared to life and the lights did their dance. The kid went wild with excitement.His mom and dad were astonished at his excitement, but did not let him get close to the car as they saw me approach. Dad says" GREAT CAR, MY SON LOVES THE NEW CAMARO. At this point I apprciated

their control and being carefull not to get too close. I proceed to unlock the door and open to load my stuff. The kid was drooling. I asked his mom if he would like to sit in the car and she was as excited as he was. 10 minutes later after the 25 cent tour gotta a nice hug from the late 20s hot mom and the The kid asked "mister, you must be rich to afford the coolest car in the world" I said not rich,just hard working and old. The kid wanted to know how he could get one and I told him to stay in school and say NO to drugs. His dad gave me the thumbs up and listened intensly as my flowmasters purred. It was great to see that some parents still have control of the kids.

Cool story!!

I foresee some LED tail-lights in my future, but maybe still a year away. I have a few other items I want to pick up first!!!

Some other C5 owners say they are expensive.....until they see them work.

The problem at this point is getting ahold of them. I held off from the begining but now want a set and have the money but no time to wait in line. LIke being at Universal Studios waiting in line for the thrill ride of the day. Still, for $399, this isn't that bad when you look at some vendors charging $499 for a set of sidemarker LED's. Even $200 plus is too much for sidemarkers.
I've placed my order for the tail lights and when in stock or ready to ship they'll call me to make payment and I will, and hopefully will have them this spring when I'm back on the road. Great story on the LED tails! I haven't seen any around here and if anyone has them, their either not saying, not driving their car for the weather trying to sneak up on the rest of us at the first Meet & Greet or Car Show.

My order # was 230 something and had to wait about 4months or so. It was definately worth the wait. I have'nt seen any others around Corpus, but it is still early in production.

i removed all the chrome in the back end and the led's look great through the blacked out lens.

I have had close to same experiences in my ZO6. Said the same things about school and hard work. It's nice to be able to show a positive role model image.
