Im relatively new to the camaro/domestic auto scene but I have always been a fan of bolt-on wheels spacers on my past imports (G35/350Z). I think they are a perfectly subtle enhancement and a great cheaper alterantive to wider wheels.
I was wondering if anyone has them on their camaro (pics would be great) Are they safe to use for years of daily driving? I ask because I have also heard some horror stories. I used Ichiba brand ones on my last car but cant seem to find any name brand one for this car ![]() I would like to use them with my 20 inch RS rims Any insight would be appreciated P.S This is my favorite car so far |

If you are in a major wreck and it comes out you have wheel spacers, you are very likely going to have claim issues. Also you could have warranty issues with GM. Lastly why not just get wider wheels?

i tried to start a thread for this, but the response in this forum for spacers is strangely low. in germany a lot of guys have them and it locks great and there is no disadvantage with them! for V8 4x 25mm will lock perfekt, for V6 its little different, because the V6 has a build in wider rear (10mm). so 25mm at the front and 20mm at the back schould lock great, but every spacer smaler than 25mm you have to shorten the bolds ... which sucks, so many V6 drivers have also 25mm around their cars, even if it is a little wider at the rear! |

spacers put undo strain on wheel bearings causing early failure, if you like the skateboard look, buy a skateboard.

Wow, did not expect such low spupport. Spacers are very popular for imports so kinda expected the same with domestics
Im partial to them because i really like my 20 inch RS rims and do not want to replace them with wider wheels Im just looking for subtle upgrades, im also considering powdercoating these rims high gloss black as well and i thought spacers would be a nice finishing touch since I do not want to lower it either |

Skateboard look? I disagree. I'm lowered about 2" all around with the stock wheels and I'm basically tucking tire so a spacer would fix that problem so the wheels would sit more flush with the fender. Some people need spacers for different purposes. I'm not going to bother getting them for my car because I will be getting new wheels soon anyway. |

spacers are not popular in the domestic scene
in fact... it's the exact opposite... we frown upon them a) just using them to push your wheels out further looks horrible. having tires stick out not only kicks up more crap on your quarters and the cars behind you, it just looks tacky b) if you want the look of wider wheels... put wider wheels/tires on the car... we do things right around here c) they aren't as safe.... especially on the power (in this case, the rear) wheels. You ever been in a car that broke wheel studs? I'm sure you didnt have a problem with that before with your g35 with the lack of power (that's just some friendly s**t talking, don't take it personal.. hehe).

so you're saying, flexing the wheels and wideing them is not so riskfull and more stable than fully Alumuminium Huncentric wheel spacers made in Germany???

I have them on my truck but they are very small like 10mm. Only on to help clearance my brakes. Been on for years, daily driven, no problems. But I wouldn't use them just for looks.
