2nd Annual Alberta Camaro Meet - June 11, 2011 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

We had a great time at the Alberta Cruise last year, met great Camaro people and we had 23 - 2010 Camaros all together. What a sight it was! This year we are hoping for much, much more.

Many of us wanted to make this an annual event and therefore I want to give everyone enough time to mark your calendars. June 11, 2011 is close to the date we picked last year and seemed to work for most people, so hopefully it will work again.

At this point, I want to know who is interested and any ideas for a route. Do we want to do the same as last year or something completely different. Please let me know your ideas, so that I can to incorporate them into a plan,

Keep this post going with your ideas and closer to the date I will create a thread with all the details.

I can garantee that I will make this event. The route taken last time was bang on. You split Alberta in half bascially allowing up to come down and down to head up.

One idea you could add this year could be extending the invintation to Saskatawan C5 members and we could have the event over two days (Saturday and then Sunday morning banff)? Having it on Sunday morning in Banff, we could have everyone meet for a big breakfast and then we could all head to a desired location such as cascade ponds or whatever people prefer (vote?) Doing this would add even more value to the further distance travellers.

On a side note, its june so some people may wish to tent/camp rather than hotelling making the experience even more breathtaking. That can easily be arranged as banff offers soo much.

So same route as before + sunday morning breakfast and huge group photos in banff before everyone heads back home.

I'd be betting on 50-60 Camaros for the initial cruise (Saturday) and about half that staying over for the Sunday morning Banff photos.

Just a thought, whatever happens, I'm happy with it

watch the dates of this cruise as right now it's clashing with the big oshawa trip

might be better off waiting till july instead of june

also it's warmer in july

We should get a poll going for the date, right now the 11th works for us, lets see what others thnk ???? The 2 day also is a great idea, would be there for that also, the route last year rocked and was fun . JMO will keep watch LOL .................. :-)

You picked the June 10th - 12th weekend, which is the Oshawa Builders and Buyers Meet & Greet weekend.

I know several of us Albertans will be in Ontario that weekend. GM is giving a plant tour of the Flex Plant where the Camaro is built... and the design team will be there too. Wouldn't doubt that a large number of Albertans will be gone that weekend. Going to get Scott Settlemire to sign Warlock's engine.

Considering the Guinness Book of World Records is going to be there to count attendance, I imagine they're expecting quite the crowd!

We are up for a gathering as well,
and concure with Ravirn about many couples being gone to Oshawa.
Barb and I are not going so we're ready for any weekend and suggest maybe a badlands tour?

The 11th works for me. The route last year was great.

If the date has to move, it would work better for me the next 2 weekends in June or the last 3 weekends in July. I would stay away from long weekends, as many people (including myself) have plans on those weekends.

I really enjoyed last year's cruise and I really hope that I can make the date that you pick again!

Does June 4th work better for everyone?

May is too risky for snow, as I've often seen snow on the May long weekend. July doesn't work for me, as too many people are on vacation around that time of year.
