Has a camaro broke the 200mph mark

I understand race prepped cars can do it, my question is has a street legal daily driven camaro broke the 200mph mark?

I believe hennessey said that theoretically their ls9 camaro has a top speed north of 200 mph. Don't know if they ever tested it. Maybe someone else can chime in as well. Drag cw is the main culprit for these cars at those speeds.

I doubt it. Not too many places let you get up to those speeds. The Camaro would need well over 700 hp to cross the 200 mph mark within a reasonable distance (and be able to stop/slow down), and while there are a number of such cars, relatively few are driven daily.

I believe most companies use the salt flats to test cars that reach those speeds. I mean, going WOT, you'd need at least 2 or 3 miles of just straight flat road. The smallest pebble at those speeds could be the end of you.

At that speed you better have a chute, unless you plan on smoking your brakes!

Someone started this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ght=Texas+Mile

After the Lambo accident at the last Texas Mile event (End-Over-End @ 235mph and walked away...), I have decided to make some additional mods to my car before attempting this event.

What Mods have you done to your car?

I did a 151MPH in a V6 surely someone could hit 200 in a SS.
