If you want to keep your warranty then go with ST headers. As LT headers require a tune. I personally do not think you would need a whole new exhaust system. Going down the LT route you would need to get new cats though.

If you dont get some kind of muffler on it , it will be extremely loud , which to me is a good thing , but thats a personal choice there. I wouldn't waste my money on shorty headers , they just dont produce any real gains for the money. I would put LT's on it and tune it if you are wanting headers. If its too loud then you could pick up and axle back system.

I currently have no trashcans, no cats and have headers. It is way loud... I recently purchased Doug Thorley catback from Southwest Speed to quiet it a bit and get rid of the terrible drone.

There's a HUGE difference between loud, and mean. You can cut the exhaust under the doors and it will be loud as hell. If you add the right combo of exhaust parts, you'll find the "mean" sound you're looking for. The problems is, that "mean" sound is very subjective and no one knows what that sounds means to you. I see you going through several setups looking for the one that you like.

I personally would go with long tube headers as shorties don't pick up as much power as long tubes do. Also we offer a system that runs all the way to the rear mufflers or a shorter system that bolts up to the cat back section.

Go with long tubes and high flow cats (or race pipe mids).
You'll want to run a quality catback exhaust also. Long tubes and muffler delete is way too loud (you'll draw way too much attention to yourself and the cops will be all over your case). Its obnoxiously loud. |

I have this exact setup and it is perfectly loud when I need it to be and it sounds Mean when idling. I am waiting for a nice clear day so i can get some video inside and out.

Here is a video of my car with LT's and muffler delete, no cats.
Here is the one with LT's, High flow Cats and Kooks Street Sleaper Cat Back. You make your own decision as to how LOUD you want it.

Amen brotha!!! That V8 growl should sound strong not OUT OF CONTROL. Those loud pipes remind me of corn-field flyers with the rear-ends up in the air to get the huge tires under it. With the headers and striaght pipes dangling under them with bailing wire hangers.
