Has anyone used the viper alarm with the remote start that u can use with your iPhone? I was going to get the oem Chevrolet remote starter but I called onstar and they said that onstar did not support the remote start feature on their app unless it was installed from the factory. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the Viper 5901 remote start alarm. But I can't install it yet because DEI hasn't made the ignition bypass module yet. But you can download the app for the Iphone, blackberry or droid and you can remote start it from anywhere in the world with the phone module added to your alarm. It is 299.00 for that module. Thats if you have a 2010 because they do have the bypass module available now. But with the 5901 alarm itself has a one mile range on it, so I never needed to have the phone module.

The only use I could see, if you are in a basement with concrete walls, or on a vacation and you have your car sit and want to warm it up or cool it down. Or just want to show it off.

I don't have it on my Camaro, but I have it on my daily driver and it works great.

I put the remote module in my wife's H3 just in case she locked her keys in her car at work about 20 mile away. Works great and I got it off e-bay for $170 around Christmas. Works great on android and iphone. Cost is $100.00 for 3 years service though. Remember that too.
