HELP!!!!! Install of Steering Wheel Controls and PDIM

Ok, I installed the Steering Controls and PDIM into my Camaro LT and took it to my local dealership to get them to function. Well the first dealership stated what I was doing was impossible. I then called two other dealerships and was then told that they had no such update and there was no way to make these items work in my car. I have seen several other people do this install and they function just fine. I need some help please.

Find a service department not full of retards.

Either that or print out the directions from the threads you've seen and take those in.

Other than that, I'm not sure what you want us to do for you.

Darth, Here is the sad thing, not only did I have copies of the instructions and discussions but I had several copies of the instructions. Then I called two other local dealerships and was told not possible. I agree they are idiots but I am kind of at a loss for where to go now.

After you get it done I would drive to the shop you brought it to originally and show them. I would also give them this short speech. "Hey, remember me? Yeah, remember you telling me that this couldn't be done(point to mods and demonstrate)? I drove to the land of make believe and this weird guy came out with a wand, I think his name was Potter or Gandalf or something, and as if by magic, my car now had these options I wanted you guys to install. And oh yeah, by the way, you guys are ****ing idiots and you will NEVER see this car, any other car of mine, or any car that belongs to anybody I know, EVER again. You guys are a total disgrace to General Motors, Texas, and anybody that calls themselves a mechanic. Have a nice day." And then just drive the **** off.

Ok 2SSRS.... Now you got me scared... my next project was the HUD... Hmmm guess I will wait a few on that one. At least till this local dealership removes thier head from thier ass. LOL Really this dealership irritated me beyond belief. So bad I actually got ahold of the regional manager and am supposed to go back friday for a sit down with him, the local owner and service manager. I guess the fact that I sent him a copy of the instructions, pictures and the discussions found here, kind of made a statement. Of course it helps this is a really small town too ( Because word of mouth here is everything!)

Well you dont have to worry with the huid because with 2SSRS harness and the parts from me the hud is plug and play. You dont need the dealer. As for the steering wheel controls here is a copy of the GM bulletin from GM that tells dealers yes it can be done and how to do it.

Patrickt.... Thanks for the info, it will help alot I know it will... I am going back to the dealer tomorrow to have them work on the steering controls. After a long meet with the local owner and service manager, they let me (supervised by a tech) see if I could get my PDIM working using thier scan software and laptop. Funny thing in less then 5 minutes I was in and downloading, due to thier slow internet it took 30 minutes total. But I got the PDIM to work the first time. All I did was follow the directions. After embarassing the Service Manager I was asked to stop and step away. Then was told they cant do the steering controls. But the owner asked me to come back tomorrow with the instructions (using the ones you provided) and asked me to give a class to the techs on how to do it. The sad thing is I wrote the reprogramming for my Ford F150 and the dealerships are owned by the same people. But they wanted to play games. The plus is anyone else who uses my local dealership wont have problems and I get the install and service free for doing the class. Anyways I will have to send you a PM in a few in refernce the HUD parts... Gotta get the full price so I can work it in. I appreciate everyones help and will keep you all updated. I will post pics soon too of all the mods I am doing.
