Airaid CAI installed! With pics!

Hello fellow members,

I have finally finished installing the Airaid CAI intake on my camaro. Wanted to shout out to KMPenger, blackbee and scrming for helping me out on my preinstall post!!!

The install was slightly more difficult, and I have a couple of questions if you all can kindly help me out. I hope you all enjoy the pictures..and I must say that this is one great sounding intake!!!! And looks good too!

Pictures of the installed CAI:

Here is one of my questions...is the plastic bumper on the lower bracket of the cold air box supposed to go into that hole where the factory grommet is?

Continued from above...I think this may be why the side bracket hole does not line up with the hole of the cold air box..therefore I am unable to install the ground lug through that hole

Didn't have a speed clamp since I purchased mine used so I purchased clamps at Advanced:

And finally another final result picture:

Please please help me with my above question about the plastic bumper going into that hole. Thanks in advanced. Hope you guys enjoyed the picture!

I"m trying to get an image in my head of your first question about the lower bumper/bracket, but nothing comes to mind!

Is this something you can see by looking in, or would I have to sort've remove my intake just to see? lol If you want me to shoot any photos for you I can do that.

The 2nd picture was my attempt of taking a picture of what I'm talking about. lol its def tough to take a picture of. In the 2nd picture..in the way back of the picture you can see that silver thing..with the nut on it and that black thing below it..that is the rubber mount that was in the instructions. And that black thing to the left of it..and to the left of the tube that is in the way is the OEM grommet. Now I'm wondering if the rubber mount is supposed to go into that hole where the grommet is. Sorry for the long description lol. I actually reinstalled it...and now there is a ticking noise. These DIY mods never work out for me :(. Thanks in advance for your help!

Larry, no the support bumper doesnt have to fit in the hole, in fact by shape and location it cant really from what I recall. It just sits on top of the framerail after all else is fastened down.

I appreciate the help. I guess I didn't need to reinstall it after all lol. Thanks again!

Correct the lower support don't go in the grommet, the instructionS tell you to retain it because you'll need it to reinstall the original air box. I tweaked my lower support to line up the hole for the ground stud.

Alrighty thanks!! That puts ease to my worrying. I went under the hood this morning again to check on the intake..had to re-tighten all of the clamps again since they came a little loose. Has that happened to you guys?
