Hub Centric Rings?

Hub Centric Rings....Good idea or not needed? I just got new 20" A/R Torque Thrust M's. I attempted to get the wheel/tires road-force balanced when I had the factory pirelli's mounted on the wheels, however, they said the fronts would not balance out (the rears did balance out, but it was still close). 3 out of the 4 wheels have a "ton" of stick-on weights hiding behind the spokes now. They are now balanced, just not to the degree required for "road-force" balancing. I thought for sure the problem would be because of the cheap Chinese heavy cast wheels, but I was really surprised when they said it was because of the Pirelli tires and not the wheels. Anyway, I was thinking maybe a set of Hub Centric Rings would give me a little more reassurance that my wheels are running true? It's better to have the wheels "Hub Centric" instead of "Lug Centric", isn't it??? I do not have any major vibrations that I can feel or anything right now, but just wondering if these rings are a good idea.

Anyone know where I can find 66.9 - 74.1 rings??? I found one place online that will custom make some really beautiful aluminum rings for me, but they want $125.00!!!! That's ridiculous!!! I can't find them pre-made for the size I need, any suggestions?

Thanks.

Nope! They don't have any with an I.D. of 66.9. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Is the Camaro 66.9 or 66.6? I had emailed them a while back and they said I would need 66.6 which they had.

According to my own measurements with a caliper, the Camaro SS is 66.9. Not sure if the LS or LT is any different.

AR wheels require plastic hub centric rings. (Check it out on tirerack.com)

Did the dummies who sold you the wheels lose them?

I don't think these wheels normally come with hub centric rings, I think that must be something that Tirerack includes with the sale of their wheels. There are just too many possibilities, every different car will have a different I.D. And I did not buy my wheels from tirerack, so no, they did not come with any rings.

So nobody has any suggestions on where I can buy these rings, or any advice about using these in the first place? I'm guessing there must not be very many people using them then, must not be too important!

Jeez, that was almost 2-years ago!!! I believe....(back when I had those wheels), I just went without the rings. Didn't have any issues.

Don't think I can help you on price, but I was looking at getting some custom built rings from Motorsport Tech. I've only looked at their website for now but I like what I see. Plus they're made in the U.S.A, out of Sparks, NV. Another option worth looking into.

I've heard the aluminum rings can rust and corrode, so I'm trying to find plastic ones. Does it need to be exact inner and outer sizes? Or can it be off by .1 mm or so, because I cannot find anything but custom aluminum or Australian aluminum rings
