Caution! Centering Rings On After Market Winter Rims

Just a heads-up for those of you who installed winter rims that came with plastic centering rings. When I was taking my winter rims off, and put the first summer rim back on, I noticed it wasn't seating properly when I tried to tighten the lug nuts. Then I realized that the plastic centering ring was stuck on the hub due to rust on the flange. I did some damage to the ring and had to spray on some lubricant and use a small screwdriver to remove the ring from the hub. All four rings were stuck on the hubs the same way, so next year I think I will apply some grease to help prevent this from happening again. If you have a garage do your change over, you should warn them about the rings, because the rust stains kind of hides them and they might not notice they are stuck there.
