Doug Thorley Headers - Issues

I have a 2011 2SS Automatic and installed DT long tube headers in the car. They hit on the knuckle on the steering shaft. Has anyone else had issues with the headers? DT states that it has to be the install or my car. I did not install these myself, I had them done at a garage in town that has done many installs and they state they believe it is the headers.

Thoughts??

Mine dont come close to touching anything. However this is the second time ive heard of this happening. I would get in touch with whomever sold them to you and ask about exchanging them.

I was the first to post about this issue and currently it's unresolved. Still waiting on DT to get back to me as I know they are installed correctly.

I am thinking that someones jig (template) was off on some of these! Mine fit perfect but I got mine over a year ago! Only thing I can think of!

How do you not install headers properly? They are either on there or not. DT needs to give you a new set of headers that fit the car.

It may have something to do with it being a 2011, the 10's don't seem to have the problem.

I think you're right there, but not sure what could be different in that area of the car to cause a slight difference causing them to rub.

66olds i know a bunch of people with the headers and have no issues, but with mine hitting and it is hitting in the same spot as yours, i am actually switching to a diffrent manufacture.. DT gave suggestions and the installers actually tried them, with no resolution. My installer actually didnt charge me on the last set of trouble shooting.. I will post on how the next set actually go in.... but for DT to tell me on the phone they have never had this issue, and there is at least two is pretty lame

Same problem here on a 2010 2SS. Really upset about it. Not much I can do for now. Doug Thorley hasn't been helpful about it eaither considering they have "lifetime" guarantee and I'm pretty sure this is a Manufacturers defect.

I have a 2010ss with DTLT headers. I installed myself, and I have no issues.

I don't care who the mfg. is-I will not dimple a set of headers. If there is a diff in fitment for the 11's vs 10's then it's upto the mfg. to make the proper adjustments or let the buyer know before purchase. I understand Ivan was offering a replacement-what happened? Is it possible there is an issue with the steering column? IDK? Good Luck. Suprised DT hasn't come forward to address this issue/problem.
