What is YOUR LLT operating temp?
I'm curious to collect info on what temps our cars are running and what effect ambient temp may have on that.
Let's list the following and I'll compile a spreadsheet and see if there's any pattern. Average coolant temp: Low "warm" temp: High Temp: Ambient temp during monitoring: Here's mine for yesterday: Avg: 205* Low: 203* High: 207* Ambient: 68* (Note:199* is when the cold start idle drops. after that, I rarely see anything below 203, with frequent trips to 207 in stoplight traffic.) Earlier this week: Avg: 205* Low: 204* High:207* Ambient: 85* (Note: Fans kicked on A LOT! Almost every stop had the fan start.)

My car has gotten as high as 214 in 70+ degree ambient idling in traffic. Low is like 200-201.

I haven't looked at it real close but it's usually low 205ish. I'll keep an eye out for it though.

Cruising on the highway or local roads without long stops = 194-199 degrees
Idle for extended periods of time (15 mins or more) = has gotten up to 224 degrees City stop and go driving = 199-204 |

All of the temps you guys have posted are right.Mine is the same 199-205. When at the Fest in 95 degrees, and in the desert where it got to 102 doing 85 mph the hottest with the air on was 205. IMO, G.M. tuned the cars as they did the LS engines, and since the LLT is also aluminum, the best water temps for max power for these is 195-205 degrees, and all tuners set temps right in that range.
So dont worry, all is good. |
