Oracle HOD Input Needed (solution to yellow halogen)

So I really need to get rid of these super ugly stock halogen bulbs. I cannot stand the yellow tint compared to by LED fog bulbs. What does everyone think about the Oracle HOD as a solution? Is it brighter than the factory halogen bulb? I was thinking about doing a drop in HID kit but I don't want to drop $200 on a kit. I have used Xentech brand in the past and had issues with ballasts so I don't want to do that again. I am really just looking for opinions from fellow non-RS owners...Thanks!!

I have the HOD bulbs from AAC... they are brighter, and I have a thread with pics posted... try a search, it was quite awhile ago.

HOD and LED on the left, Halogen bulbs in the Right.

The HOD bulbs are nice I have them as well. But I had them installed for 4 months and one side went out.

Same here. I just put the factory halogens back in until I figure out a better solution...

I also have them, but did have some issues with them. When I received them one of the bulbs did not work and one of the wiring harness that they sent me was loose, I had to send them back to get a replacement on both (paid shipping, again). I got the replacements, and the bulb worked this time, but not the wiring harness, so I decided to fix it myself this time to avoid having to pay shipping again. They do look brighter than halogen, but I do not know how long they will last. I will probably just going to go with silverstar bulbs next time, not as bright but more reliable.

Another thing you might be able to do is to add the plug-n-play harness to get rid of the DRL. That might make the life of the bulb go longer.

However, if the HID kit is too much money you probably won't want to spend $125 on a harness to get rid of the DRL.

So for the money would you say they are worth it? (minus the issues) I feel that I will have more problems using an aftermarket HID kit than using the HOD bulbs even though the HIDs will be brighter...

Where is the harness available? I usually turn off my auto lights when I get in my car anyway...

In my case, the bulbs were fine. They'll come on after I jiggle the wires, but go off again (not completely off, just very dim) shortly thereafter.

When I took one apart, the white ceramic in the connector was brown and crispy. Since I perceive this as a design problem, I didn't bother getting replacements.

I might try the silverstars. I'll probably eventually upgrade to OEM HIDs, but I want to make sure all the bugs are out of the Non-RS adapter harness...

Try 2 days and one of the harnesses was loose.

If I do decide to grab the HIDs what brands have you guys seen that work best? I hear Morimoto AND DDM throw around often...
