Question Slight lag between shifting. (V6 / 6SP)

IDK if its just me but ive been driving sticks since I was a youngin'. When I shift from a higher gear to a lower one at higher RPMs' it seems to "Catch" the asphalt so to speak with a loud tire screech. I was doing 60 and dropped from under 2k RPMS's into 5th, then into 4th and it just stopped responding momentarily and screeched (all while 60mph). I didnt drop the clutch into gear, it was rather smooth engagement, but its like the gas doesnt respond to the "I need to go now please faster pedal".

On another note, it even happens when shifting 2nd-3rd-4th where it just lags and jerks like an angry mule.

Point is, does anyone else have a lag between gear shifts? If im not clear I can elaborate more

Mine hasn't demonstrated that behavior, but I have noticed this car has a heavier flywheel than than I had hoped, so "blipping" the throttle on downshift doesn't give the engine time to respond and raise revs to match the next lower gear-you have to hold the throttle open just a bit.

If the RPM mismatch were bad enough, it could lock up those soft tires for just a sec, especially if they're cold.

On the upshift this engine has enough compression that if you're going thru the gates too slowly, you could be feeling some engine braking as you engage the next gear.

However, I'm sure your driving is just fine. Maybe there is something squirrely with the automatic traction control..??:(
